I am ranked Platinum 5, during my last game which I went into with 80lp, I had 2 silver players and 2 gold players on my team. In what world is that ok? I did not drop drastically in LP at all and my MMR according to op.gg is normal, so why the hell am I being put with silver and gold players during a RANKED game. Thats a complete joke, your ranked system is not working properly and needs to be fixed.
What did opponents have? Nvm, i saw it. Enemy team was full of silvers and golds. Well nothing strange there. Middle of that match was mid gold and they are matched with high silvers and low plats.

Yeah, I'd usually talk about MMR and whatnot, but as you said, this is not the reason here. The game itself wasn't exactly unbalanced in terms of MMR, but the discrepancy in strength between the different players was insane. I guess the reason for this to happen was that very very little people tried to queue up which meant that the balance system didn't find enough people to create a game for you as you are in the top 7% of NA. Therefore it tried to balance the team by filling you into a game of silver/gold players and making sure that the average MMR is somewhat equal.
The result is a low quality match that is surely not satisfying to play - but seeing how Riot won't be able to make up more players at your level of play in the correct positions you will probably have to accept that there are worse games at certain times.

In each of my promos, the games became incredibly less balanced than if I was getting LP to hit the promos. I get that it's supposed to be a 'big achievement' to hit Gold 5, but why are you putting my Silver/low Gold botlane vs a Gold 1 Jhin that knows how to play around his team?
Idk why Riot threw me at S2/S3 when I was plat last Season...gotta grind through the stupidity of these games again. ugh.
Not one game in promos was balanced. I can pick them out. And even some non-promo games. Idk why Riot's setup this stupid anti-smurf system that throws you against Diamonds potentially if your mmr is avg in Gold but you're in promos.
