can someone please explain why I (Silver 2 support main) am playing against high gold/low plat players in both ranked and normals?

matchmaking is a little bonkers atm. consider this as a fast way to learn how 2gitgud

Normals have a separate MMR from Ranked, so people who play more ranked than norms get better at the game then stomp you in the few norms they play. Instead of rewarding you for being good by letting you win more games, normals reward you with harder games.

but why not let me play with people at my mmr, or even anyway near it? Facing a diamond 1 as a silver 2 seems really excessive. ive been playing against low plats for days now. I win some but lose most, however a diamond 1 seems like they are asking a bit much.
