Garen 2k true damage Execute

HI, so not sure how much was it discussed but the numbers are extreamly high for an ult that doesnt even need items to scale.

just compare it to cho gath's ult you need 1k ap to get 1350 true damage on that ult. while garen needs his target to be a villan and miss some hp.

sure, it is a very limited target that you can not even choose and the super high amount of damage is conditional ( target has to be villan and miss more than half hp). but still the amounts of damage it racks up from one skill that doesnt even need items to do that damage is unbalanced.

needs to be caped reduced to extra true damage and keep the base 525 and missing magic. just seems dumb that garen can execute any villan that falls to 40% hp no matter how much tank you build.

For Demacian Justice to deal that much damage your target would need to have at least 5000 missing health, and so 7k total health minimum. Putting aside that particular instance of hyperbole, the entire point to the Villain mechanic is that Garen has enough damage to kill the Villain regardless of who they are, without depending too much on their itemization or even his own. It would make no sense for that mechanic to be itemized against, and Garen's execute is one of his biggest strengths and contributions, so if it looks "unbalanced" that's a good thing. This is also ignoring the fact that Cho'Gath's own ult deals constant damage at all levels of health and against all targets, and so requires no setting up, and provides bonus health, size and attack range on the side, so cannot be compared to Garen's ult on damage alone.

...I think you're exaggerating.

Like, you need to be the villain, over 5687.5 HP, and lose at least 3687.5 HP to get anywhere near that 2000 true damage execute. This being well after Garen is level 16. Or able to reach you, for that matter. Hell, how does someone that invested into raw health even have the resistances for the true damage to be relevant. How does someone that invested into raw health even manage to be the villain?!

Methinks you are stretching the truth for no particular reason.

Oh, it's for a good reason! He wants to circle jerk for upvotes like a 14 year old girl on instagram :)

okay, played rammus, was supoer troll match with 1 afk on our side and team was doing extreamly bad. i was villan alot. 1850 true damage from ult all i had for hp items were warmogs and randuins. rest full tank. (flat armor)

and that ult is game breaking cause if your tank is the villan your team will auto lose the next team fight.

just think of it this way if you are carring on any mele champion and there is a garen on the enemy team when ever you are the villan they win the team figh 100% cause you get executed for stupid amounts of damage.

got hit for 1450 true damage on my diana. and i had no hp items at all. (did have the e up)

streching nothing cause what is 150 hp when everyone is close to full build. exaggerating? please... might sound like a bit of a rant but with the current meta of front and back line, if your front line is villan you have no front line. cause 1850hp on a rammus vs a full ad comp is pretty much a dead adc if he is dumb enough to keep shooting.

i think i know whats the problem here.

death recap always shows the full damage of the ult, even if he didnt actually deal that much damage. lets say youre on 500 health and garen ults you. the death recap will show by far more than 1000 damage, since it calculates the full amount of damage depending on the missing health at that moment.

but in reality the garen dealt 500 damage. everything that would take you below 0 hp is entirely irelevant. i wish riot would fix that and have death recap only show as much damage as the ability actually dealt to kill the target. meaning if garen ults someone on 50 hp it should show 50 hp damage, and not like 2k.

his ult usually only deals more than 1k damage in extreme cases if someone like a lategame darius with 4k health is the villain.

but consider this. a lategame chogath can pull something like that off every 30 seconds, and can chose to use his ult at any point of a fight for the full damage. a garen has to wait until his desired target is low enough.

I played LB and was getting ulted for over 1k when I had a whole 2k health.

Cho's ult is only that short of a cool down on monsters it kills, not chamls. It also has less than half the range of Garen's and does far less damage. He also needs about 700 ap to get the same damage.

We're comparing apples and oranges. Cho actually has to build AP to get damage. Garen does more by building pure tank.

I didn't know Garen could use his ult as a smite, and gain up to 600 bonus HP from it.

Thank you, like I said in the original post... Apples and oranges.

you are missing my point. i am not comparing the kits and i know it is a conditional ult. not talking ranges here either.

talking raw damage and the items it takes to get it on other champions. point with 1k ap cho was that you build pure damage in which case you have no deffance items and die easly. while garen build pure tank and gets even more single target damage. ( in the condition the villan has 4500 hp) garen can actualy have 0 items and just be lvl 16.

sure sounds like alot of conditional and limitid situations and theory and what not.

but lets face it if you carry on any mele champion and there is a garen on the enemy team when ever you are villan you cant do **** cause you get executed at roughly 35% hp regardless of items on both you and garen.

point is the true damage to villan is actually game breaking with the current meta of front and back line.

I can do so much with 35% hp on diana, rammus, vi, darius, xin, ect.

id be fine with 1850 magic damage even though that is a stupid number.

hell i'd be even fine with some extra sugar true damage on top. but a stright up execute skill regardless of items at 35% seems abit over the top when it dunks for so much true damage. idk might sound like a bit of a rant for some of you, but the true damage numbers it racks are way to high imo.

Chogath has a ranged Knockup/slow and a ranged silence though. You have to look at everything in their kit. Almost Garens entire identity is single target and melee range.
