I throw away my ban every game. I don't believe in bans ever since people started using it to safespace themselves from any champion they think is overpowered. Then I started seeing everyone call for more bans, up to 2 bans FOR EACH PLAYER.
Given how everyone likes to overspecialize as a team with all AD melee assassins, I see more games go to shit because such an overspecialization can easily be toppled with one slightly aware enemy summoner and a clever pick. I remember pre-VU Taric would run roughshod over such teams just by himself. The same still applies today, arguably more so since so many champions were reworked/buffed/nerfed in the past few patches. People are still dealing with the growing pains of these changes, but too many players simply refuse to adapt.
Veigar's main strength is he can nuke down ONE champion with proper timing and spell placements. Multiple champions are a lot harder for him to deal with, and an entire team, even in a teamfight, is almost an impossible venture to bomb them all to oblivion. Veigar has to make that one nuke count, and he's not going to burn it on a tank, if he can afford it; if he does, he's an idiot. He's going to and SHOULD save that nuke for a squishy, menacing target, like the enemy mage or ADC, or even the hyper-mobile assassin. Otherwise, it's very difficult for him to actually land a shot on someone if they're not locked down from whatever source.
This ties in with my crusade to all Mastery 5. It allows me to learn the nuances of other champions, and this has actually made me better at League, as a result.
