Leblanc Really Needs A Nerf

Vovin··21 votes·3,285 views

So I'm interested in knowing is it just me and my friends who think Leblanc is broken or is it everyone? If it isn't everyone and someone could inform me of the secret trick to instakill Leblanc that would be awesome. Now if someone who mains Leblanc and has a particular issue with me simply asking if she's broken gets on this post and proceeds to get all salty well, just don't be that guy. Thanks for any answers.

I am of the same opinion you are, she is incredibly frustrating to play against.

She has ridiculously high damage output and doesn't put herself at even close to the same risk. She also has VERY low cooldowns so can't even be counted out of a fight after she 100-0's a target.

I also can't think of a single champion that can hold their own (I don't even want to beat her in lane) against her in the laning phase. She is a very snowbally champion with no way that I can see to shut her down.

Well Veigar used to be able do it with his rework, but there is a bug on LB that can force disjoint abilities. Meaning Veigar ult will just do some weird boomerang animation and disappear the come off CD and cost no mana even though it was about to erase her because she swapped with one of her pads.

Cho'Gath absolutely stomps LeBlanc in the laning phase, while scaling better. You shouldn't have to play one specific champion to beat her, though.

Damn. That's brutal, you didn't have to go that far.

Are you telling me you enjoy fighting LeBlanc?

Facing LeBlanc is never hard as she's super predictable. When I hear someone complain about a champ like LB I automatically know that person has zero understanding about the basic concepts of laning.

what does basic concepts of laning have to do with lb needing a nerf of not? Also shes one of the more unpredictable champs because of her ulti. Most champions have 1 or 2 basic combos, Lb has about 5 or 6, so I think your statement is a little incorrect there

Neo Cyrus3 votes

Copying the last used spell is unpredictable in a combo chain that has pre-set obvious patterns based on what's going on? You're not a mid laner are you?

Thats Frosty2 votes

Actually im a mid laner, but you dont actually know if shes going to use another spell or duplicate it. Do you even leblanc?

Godhri2 votes

but by that argument, you can say the same of every other champion in the game. It can't really be used exclusively here for Le Blanc here as a reason for her unpredictability since the level of unpredictability appears to be a standard amount which is acceptable.

She is very predictable. I can beat her with virtually any AP mid champion (except heimer since I'm bad at using Heimer).

Thats Frosty1 votes

lol, your logic is flawed, shes alot less predictable than pretty much any other mid laner outside of like zed

Only Play Darius2 votes

Never said I don't know how to lane against LeBlanc, I just hate playing against her. Just like Darius.

There is a difference between saying a champ is OP, and saying that you hate the kit of a certain champ.

Neo Cyrus2 votes

I wasn't referring to you specifically. The point was it's not nearly as frustrating as derps make it out to be, there's far more annoying champions.

Besides, a game without a mage that can nuke people would be boring. The examples bound to come in of other mages which can do that only happen in their imaginations or when many levels and items ahead.

Might as well complain about Lee Sin while you're complaining about LB. Trash tier champs for solo queue with abysmal win rates, even among those with hundreds of games on them, that every Bronze cries about even if they encounter it once every blue moon.

Godhri1 votes

I enjoy fighting her. I generally never lose lane to a LB (except once I went heimer for trollsies). The only problem is that when she roams and your teammates don't listen to your pings or even chat. They just continue to push and then boom. Double kill. GGWP. Then they go "WTF. PUSH SOMETHING." "WTF NO MIA?" "WTF, WTF YOU DOING?" Even though you are already pushing and following LB into a dark river/jungle is generally a pretty damn bad idea.

SouL1ess3 votes

Her problem lies in how she does other assassin's full-kit-combo damage with just 3 out of 4 of her spells.

And all her spells do good damage individually, yet she still has 4 of them.

lB2kGRlc8y1 votes

I'd be okay with her damage if her ability to deal it in a split second and escape was nerfed severely. No reason she should be more mobile than Kassadin when his ability is an ultimate.

KRÂK3n3 votes

I don't understand why LB needs a nerf. From all the Leblancs I played against it can be difficult to lane against early game, but she has trouble as the game progresses. I have seen LB become an issue if she is able to romp and stomp other mid and if the team against her is overall behind, but if the game is evenly matched or goes against LB's team it is gets hard for her to make an impact at all.

Going against an LB I just use my range and utilize my creep wave to defend myself and stay away from the side bushes. My favorite champ to go against LB is Lux.

I am a LeBlanc main and honestly, I would agree with you 2 months ago. But not now, no. LeBlanc has been falling out of favour recently. This tank meta is pretty tough for her. Her damage output is great, her mobility is reliable but her reliability in itself is bad. She has fallen from grace lately.. (now, don't give me that look)

You see, LeBlanc always has been a champion of extremes. Her early game is stupidly strong, her late game is stupidly bad! It's an unconditional way of balancing, and it hasn't been used before her or after her because it is straight up toxic. It's a toxic form of balancing a champion by keeping that champion polarizing in both a positive and negative way. But just because it's toxic does not mean it's unbalanced, because in my opinion it is balanced.

If LeBlanc has 3 kills on the opposing laner, the match-up is even. She needs those kills to get fed ASAP and make the enemy teams life a living hell untill the 30 minute mark has been reached. When that mark has been reached and assuming the adc and mid are not completely retarded and build a banshees veil, leblanc can literally do nothing. Top, jungle, support are left and with this tank meta, good luck trying to kill them. Call me stupid, but I can't even count the amount of times I literally do nothing an entire team fight along. In a team-fight the Adc needs to keep their distance from lb at all times, meaning she will have to use her distortion to close the gaps with you. Now what can she do at that point? She has 4 seconds, assuming the mid laner is near the adc and is ready to burst lb. She can 1. QRE 2.RQE 3. ERQ. All of those three won't work if the adc has veil up. 1. Q gets consumed by veil leaving RE, won't kill adc. 2. Distortion R is consumed by veil, won't kill the adc. 3. Double chains in itself is a bad combo for assasination to begin with, won't kill the adc. LB has to return and do nothing for about 15 seconds... This is looooooong enough for the enemy team to wreck the team lb is in. Her teamfighting is horrible.

Her laning is hyped way too much. Imo, the only dangerous aspect of her laning is her lvl2. As mentioned before, keep your distance. Be a pussy. If she tries to kill you by closing gaps with her W: dodge the chain, go ham on her. And if she constantly tries to kill you by closing gaps, your jungler should have easy work on her. Don't make it that hard, you can win lane against lb. If you don't feed her, and she can't roam effectively, you are basicly ruining her entire game.

Thanks these are the types of answers I was looking for an unbiased look in of why Leblanc is balanced and how to counter her although I still believe she needs some reworking because your right her early game is disgustingly good and her late game is a bit trashy but I think the case should be that she has a pretty good early middle and late game rather than having 1 or the other because the fact her early game is so good it gives her the power to shut down a lot of adcs and middle lanes long before her late game drop off point, that is if the jungler isn't that good at their job and I have to admit I run into a lot more bad junglers than good ones probably because it's one of the harder roles to play but still makes fighting LB hard.

Its really annoying. She can immediately burst you down and then w back out of sight

Viktor v. Leblanc is a pretty good match-up for Viktor. Not unwinnable for LeBlanc if she can bait out a laser, but I have a good record for this match personally.

Well Viktor is just as broken as she is

i have to go cry in a corner on how ridiculous of what u just posted

lB2kGRlc8y1 votes

Yea, hes so mobile it hurts, like wtf is that base movespeed!? Why bother with dashes that span an entire lane when you can just move there with dat 335 base movespeed.

Cirrostratus2 votes

I played this matchup recently, can confirm that Viktor can hold his own against her. Simply Q'ing on time for the shield to block a bit of damage and then retaliating with your E will demolish her.

Good description of her playstyle

Considering she's an assassin mage with a snare, I think the best way to beat her is instant cc.

Annie Velkoz Orianna Chogath Galio Kayle

lB2kGRlc8y1 votes

Kayle can't really counter her. sure she can stop herself from being insta deleted, but then the lb just needs to return to her initial position, and chain kayle to keep her away. Lb needs to wait like 30 seconds to be able to all in again, kayle ult at its lowest cd is 48 seconds. Unless 2 Qs and an auto attack are all you need to delete the LB, kayle doesn't work out well.

She is aggravating as all hell to play against, but she falls off extremely hard. She doesn't do much midgame if she isn't fed, and her late game is piss-poor.

LeBlanc players are also among the most toxic and rude players I have ever had to share a game with, up there with Darius.

lB2kGRlc8y1 votes

Nid players are pretty bad too, but yea, never played against a non toxic LB player yet.

Webster19922 votes

my only issue with lb is that she can jump halfway down a lane and back in a blink of an eye. makes it too easy to dodge, escape or chase down champs.

Solidair31 votes

champions that obliterate her: Morgana, Brand, Malzahar, Karma (try to dodge her W by dashing forward, and attaching your tether then ending the combo with a mantra Q), Katarina (if you can dodge her W with your E), Veigar, Lissandra...

Just need to play reactively.

that brand comment made me laugh too hard, a good leblanc will destroy a brand anyday

lB2kGRlc8y1 votes

Yea, though even a tard brand can get a target ignited by his failsafe E, he still needs to land the Q to stun. Lederp has the mobility to dodge it on a low enough cooldown to make anything brand miss.

DrNova1 votes

Syndra and Xerath can outfarm and push her to tower where she sucks at waveclear. Gives the danger of getting ganked but ward well and watch map, out CS her and you'll get her late. Helps they both have a stun too.

SSJTribe1 votes

I've never really had problems with LeBlanc, I'll usually play Chogath Annie or Velkoz against her. I'll start item 3027 which gives enough health to avoid getting 100-0 by her, and then she's not usually relevant since she isn't getting fed.

Godhri1 votes

Lissandra. Bait her Distortion, R, Q easy win.

Cindikle1 votes

She needs a rebalancing not a rework.

Q's proc should do less damage at lower ranks. Rank 1 it deals 110 damage. Sure it requires a proc, but it also targeted, low mana cost and decent range.

W should do reduced damage to minions at lower ranks. Before her rework in S3 her biggest counter was that she had to level Q first. And that left her with no waveclear and her W had a long CD. Currently she can level W first just fine if need be.

Q's proc now does 40/55/70/85/100% of the damage of the first hit. W now does 60/70/80/90/100% damage to minions. E will now break if she goes out of range before it hits a target. (No more E->W back before the spell even finishes) R will only take E's trait in this.

The Bearded Bard1 votes

Lower base damage on W early levels, increase base damage on Q early levels. Now she'll lose a ton of damage if she maxes W first, but have more mobility and waveclear. See, we can balance a champion without just nerfing or buffing.
