Please help a returning player

Hi all I was hoping some people could help an old player I have just started to play after a 2+ yr hiatus and I feel like everything has changed. But the two biggest points is the jungle is entirely new and the strictness of lane roles. When I played yes, their was mid, ADC, etc but it wasn't like you absolutely had to go in this lane if you want to do this role feel completely out of place because I use to tank always and now it seems like that isn't even a real role anymore. So I guess I'm just asking if someone could just exain the new meta just a tiny bit to me and thanks in advance.

Assassins are strong in mid right now. Mobile ADCs have left Varus, Ashe, etc. in the dust. The jungle now has 2 types of champs, early gankers and farmers for post 6 play, counterjungling is almost more detrimental to the counterjungler than the jungler getting poached. Top lane still has the most variety, with mages, bruisers, and even a couple ADC types up there.

Tanks are in a rough spot because anti-tank items ended up being useful in EVERY situation, rather than situational buys to specifically handle tanks. So you'll ALWAYS hit a last whisper to punish your built armor, and you'll frequently hit a BoTRK that'll shred you if you stacked health, so they aren't REALLY gaining the survivability they should for sacrificing damage, so only tanks that give something MORE are still around, like Nasus can still deal damage and wreck towers with a farmed up Q.

Zed/Ahri mid + Lee Sin/J4 in jg + Morg/Thresh sp + Kalista adc + Gnar/Irelia top = new meta

Master these 9 champs n u won't go wrong

"Tank" is still a real role. It's not a position, though. You can play tanks in the top lane, jungle, or support positions, though tank junglers are currently out of favor in the meta.

Okay so in the summoners rift as you know

Theres a top laner. they can be a **mages, an AD fighter, and or a tank. **

Mid laners consist of Bursty AD or AP champions. **Assasians, mages ** Jungle mostly consists of tanks, these guys have a lot off CC and can sneak up on people in a lane easily as well as clear the jungle monsters who are now harder to kill then a year ago.. Fighters, and tanks. and some assasians

Botlane -

ADC are ranged that build mostly AD crit, attack speed, and move speed. they will burst you down.. for champion roles, they are **Marksmen. **

**Supports **go to bot with ADCs, support and ADC must work together in order to win the lane. Supports take no CS and set up easy kills for the ADC

*Supports usually tend to carry the botlane, but don't get mad at them if the botlane does bad. Sometimes the ADC doesn't follow up. It's a Partner effort. *

As far as which champions are meta.. honestly each champion has its own things.. I got my butt kicked by a yroick, even tho no one plays yorick. and I was playign a pretty meta champion...

Lets just say if your good enough as a champion, that is what can carry you threw your role.

I don't go jungle, Not alot of people like the new jungle... the old jungle was easier.. I main Top ADC and Support. But what junglers do is.. Top lane is now a solo lane. and theres a jungler on each team. What the jungler does is he gets his gold and XP off the monsters in the jungle. These monsters are neutral to both teams. But the jungler can find Buffs in the jungle

Red buff gives slows and I think a DOT? blue buff gives cooldown reductions as well as mana regen.

Epic monsters like dragon and barron give epic buffs. Dragon is easier of the 2. Get 5 stacks of him and your team will be powerful Barron offers not only a champion buff but a minion buff BUT usually requires the ENTIRE TEAM to take down.

Those are the monsters of the junlge.. BUT the junglers main duty, is to secure these buffs, Gank lanes and try to get a kill on the enemy laners. Here is where some junglers differ...

Some junglers take and give kills. Okay he took a kill from bot lane, giveing the other kill to the ADC.

Some junglers take only one kill and then proceed to give the rest to their laners.. as a support jungler..

You still get quite a few kills as either one but.. it helps to help your laners get fed so they can handle their lanes on their own.

Im bronze so IDK if this is exactly correct but I tried for as far as I know :3
