Didn't RIOT say they were changing promos?

So heres my situation... I was S5 with 80ish points before the reset. I go and i play my 10 promos and here were the results:

12/4/16 WIN 5/8/14 LOSS 13/5/12 WIN 6/13/18 LOSS 7/5/4 LOSS (bot lane purposely fed) 17/4/11 WIN 6/6/6 LOSS (teammate raged) 13/7/14 WIN 11/10/13 LOSS 15/11/26 WIN

So I had a .500 record. Not bad, not good. I played relatively well in all games. Now i read promos were different this year as in;

"Your placement will still be heavily influenced by where you ended up last season"

So with a .500 record in promos and being S5 already (from climbing from B3 late last season) they are telling me that i should be dropped 4 tiers and put into B3 again? I mean come on... I played good and two of my losses were due to teammates trolling... Yes i understand they can't determine if my team trolls or not but isnt that drop a little severe? So now im stuck back in bronze 3 where there are even more trolls, feeders, people who dont care, and AFKers which makes it much harder to climb to S5 where i originally climbed to...

Or am i insane?

Bigger question, how can I win one more game than you and be put into B5 if this is supposed to be a season 'reset.' My account was B4 last year and apparently that's hanging around my neck like an albatross. So much for the reset. This is total BS.

Along with that they did say you will most likely get placed below your last season divison. Plats who won all 10 still got placed a division below.

But wouldn't winning 50/50 mean you are in the correct division since you are playing with people who are same skill level as you? RIOT's logic isn't making any sense to me
