I think Yasuo windwall need some changes

At least make windwall move. Example, Like overwatch Symmetra's shield which moves forward...... (kinda like nami ult too, moving forward)

Edit: sry, for not giving explanation. My explanation is in one of the comment below.

I've got a better idea. Remove it completly.

I was hoping this was what the OP would state. The Windwall is horrible. You can even watch as the animation happens waaaaay after your attack goes through and hits Yasuo but somehow it seems to retroactively block your attack??? And blocking nearly ever ultimate in the game makes it perfectly balanced too. :D

Yasuo Just another day in the life

I have had several ideas to make it fairer (pick one, and maybe compensate buff somewhere else)

  1. Just think of it this way : it is a wall just like Anivia 's or Taliyah or even Trundle . Their own team can be cockblocked by their teammates' abilites. Then my change would be that the windwall would also block ally's spells, making it just fair reguarding the other walls in the game (and maybe, make Yasuo's own tornadoes not being blocked by it)

  2. GIVE IT A (small) CAST TIME so that Yasuo can't panick prss w in any direction and still block all incoming skills, even from behind.

  3. Make the projectiles die only from one side of the wall, the one opposed to Yasuo. So that if you reach the back of the wall, spells aren't blocked anyway.

  4. Don't destroy spells that go through it, but stop them. Currently, a Lux E would just be destroyed by the wall, while it could stand still in front of the wall. Many spells could be changed to work like this (and some already do : Orianna 's ball, Azir 's soldiers and Syndra's balls are blocked, but don't vanish when they were supposed to go through the wall.

Overall the spell needs a nerf, it is just too unfair to play against.

Thoughts ?

ATM Yasuo Windwall is bugged and it has cast time which is godawful to play with, this was already confirmed to be fixed on the next patch.

I mean, it is godawful to play against the wall as well

Yea, I do agree. Windwall is the only reason why I ban Yasuo. Hope riot will be reading our recommendations and change Yasuo WW accordingly. Hate fighting a Yasuo when all he does is stand in the middle of the WW, and he can block 360-degree projectile while killing my beloved support/tanks engager..

So on top of having Yasuo syndrome (0/12 in your team, 12/0 in enemy), you want your feeding Yasuo to c**ckblock you some more with troll and bad windwalls

sounds like more reason to perma him

Only braindead yasuo mains will think this ability is balanced and not toxic... 1 simple r%%%%%ed ability should not counter half of the champion rooster.

let me disagree

it's way more than half

Yasuo nerf is simple, remove his passive shield. There is no need for him to have a shield and a windwall, while he flies through minions with a tornado active.

Yas doesn't need 2 defensive components when he already has cc, mobility, and aoe damage.

He needs to get poked when csing, he has it too easy to cs.

The shield is compensation for lower base stats. It's never a problem unless you can't lane properly.

His shield is like a free banshee's veil every few seconds, it much better to have a shield with lower base stats than the opposite.

floo1 votes

I don't understand why he needs 2 passives in the first place.

Zezilian3 votes

Agreed. This ability makes Yasuo toxic champ, absolutely not fun to play against.

Daddy Ants3 votes

Only changes it needs imo are

  • Windwall has ward health. Every auto attack or ability blocked removes 1 bar of health. When the health is gone the wall goes on cooldown.
  • Cannot block Ultimate abilities.
ModAcademy Kayn7 votes

I don't know how I feel about giving it a health, but the second one is just dumb. That's like saying Yi's Meditate's Damage Resist shouldn't apply to ults, or that Fiora's Parry shouldn't apply to ults.

Velzard of Koz1 votes

Hardly comparable. Both of them affect it on theirself, with Yi only reducing damage and Fiora needing good timing as hers lasts short period of time. Yasuo deletes the ult from existence completely being able to protect more people, deletes every aspect of it rather than just reducing damage and it lasts for much longer period of time.

Even If we'd agree that the Windwall needs to be able to remove ultimates to be viable, I don't know how someone can soberly compare it to Yi's Meditate or Fiora's Riposte.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

It's entirely so. Yi and Fiora's Meditate and Damage Resist are their defensive tools for themselves, just as Yasuo's wall is his as well. It's not their only one, mind you, Fiora has her healing and Yi his Alpha Strike, but those are the tools that supply the most self defense in their kits.

It's their main form of defense, aside from their minor forms, like Fiora's healing, Yi's alpha strike, and Yasuo's shield. They're meant to protect the Skirmisher from threats, it doesn't matter in what shape or form, they're all the Skirmisher's main defense. Windwall does more than other's, because other champion's have different tools. Fiora has %health true damage, Yi as resets and immunity to slows and attack slows.

It doesn't matter the form the Self-defense takes, exempting one self-defense from Ults, is purely in the camp of people hating Yasuo deleting their ult, not in the camp of making it fair for both sides. Ironically, you create a situation that's unfair for Yasuo, his main defense not working when he'd most need it.

Velzard of Koz1 votes

Windwall does more than other's, because other champion's have different tools.

This is much fairer argument.

What form the defense is in is important. It's like excusing any possible unhealthy or overpowered defensive tool just because other champions have defensive tool too. You could potentionally use least viable defensive tool such as Annie's E to justify the most broken one.

The fact that champion pays in power budget for stronger tool is the primary thing here.

wtf why move?

wtf why move?

I am from an ADC prospective, because whenever someone caught YS, he will just WW (windwall), and as an ADC, I can't AA unless I go into melee range, or watch my engager die. Or, sometimes, my engager will go in, and his WW, will just change the whole team fight..... He already has a shield, a dash and a knock up to help escape. A moving windwall still blocks projectiles, but at least, I can reposition for better auto attack.

OH i was sure you want it to move with yasuo t owhere ever he goes

This would be an improvement, assuming they are dead-set on keeping that garbage ability.

Because we will not just walk around his windwall like he is doing it already?

You realize you can make Yasuo come to you, right?

Step away from Yasuo as a team, then kill him after he steps past his wall, or just wait it out.

I wish I can play like LCS, where I can say "hey, let us wait until the WW ends" to my engager.... do you realize that in solo-q things are messier right? And from what u said "let him come to me". You must not be playing ADC.

As an ADC, the chance of me winning a Yasuo at melee range is slim.

I rather vs a zed than a yasuo. Even a useless yasuo can change a game with his windwall.

Kerwints1 votes

it's not about any all in or fight, that's where windwall is actually not an issue, though yes, there's more fun things to play against.

it's about everything else, the random windwalls to peel, the windwalls to stop or help siege, the windwalls to just yolo and get away, the windwalls that completely negate an entire role's damage for a much longer time than needed.... you get the idea. The whole SPELL as a whole is irritating.

Compare it a bit to Fiddle's kit. Or teemo shrooms. Just because the abilities itself are not BROKEN, doesn't make it any more interesting to play against, it makes for a frustrating experience.

anyway imo the only change it needs right now before an actual rework is reducing the time it lasts.

I suggested removing the curve

Why the fk is windwall ) or ( shaped rather then I shaped

But it does move. I suggest you to read the ability's description before trying to talk about it.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Yasuo

ACTIVE: Yasuo creates a gust of wind that travels in the target direction over 0.25 seconds to form a wall in front of him. The wall slowly drifts forward 50 units over 3.75 seconds, blocking all enemy projectiles except Turret icon turret attacks.

Thefrostyviking2 votes

I think OP means to have it keep moving, since he mentioned Nami ulti.

AhhShucks1 votes

My issue with windwall has very little to do with the ability itself and more to do with the character it's on.

If you play Yasuo and totally forget you even have that ability, he feels like a functional and complete champion. He can still duel, or even out duel most other melees. He can gapclose on any ranged character who wants to contest minions with him. He can dash through a frontline to dive a backline. He even can sit back and farm relatively safely with Q and then poke at range with it.

Any other champion would have gotten Yasuo's Q3 as their actual last ability in place of the windwall. Instead Yasuo just gets an extra rather powerful ability that he would feel complete without.

Kerwints1 votes

We've been thinking that and saying that since its release. At this point I give up hope. When I ban Yas, it's really only for his windwall, not the champion.

ORB1TS1 votes

You have to play around it. Early it has around a 20 second cd maybe more I would have to check... really have you have to do is bait it out..
