little story of how i climbed trough that
i started rank in 2014 and got placed bronze 5 after placement
stayed there 2 years thinking i was stronger than bronze 5 but too many afk and troll and smurf at that elo
2 years later, i get out of bronze 5 and 4, i reach bronze 3 ONCE
3 days later i was silver 3 (proved the world wrong :^D)
stayed the rest of my time in silver and this year finally reached gold and i am now gold 3

i dont know how to carry and i cant stand playing something i dont feel like playing so i never abuse meta.
And before all that, i have really shit decision making; put a control ward in the middle of the enemy team in their fountain... at least ill make them lose visio-oh, or not...

but... my map awarness is impecable
i ping the use of summoner spell and ult in all 5 lanes, tell anyone where the enemy members are at all time (exept the jg, i can never keep track of him) and in the end grant my team knowledge that at their elo they wouldnt have, also i learned to use wave control to put pressure on enemy team before teamfights (you wont really be able to do that as a support tho)
if you put me on maokai, the enemy team will not touch my carry once as soon as we start teamfighting.
to put it simply, you play and have a great kda... good for you but you lost, kda wont help you
your enemy probably had worse kda than yours if i believe in your post (and i do)
but they are still the one that won.

imagine if you had a teamate that played 
but there is a bug on that champions;
tf ult has a 5 second cd but he cannot use auto attack.
you would always know where the enemies are and what they are doing
tf wouldnt be able to get gold for items cuz he cant farm exept with Q and ends up with no dmg.
but the enemy jg and roams are useless and even idiots can avoid them.
the tf would probably have a shitt kda, but it would be way too hard to beat a team that know what you are doing all the time even if it's a 4v5.
btw, now that i am gold, i can finally focus on other things like my kda and laning phase, but im still mainly all about improving map awarness
tl;dr stop caring about your kda and dumb teamates
learn to do something that other silver player doesnt even know about and use it to win, even if you end up 0/10/0.
dont try to fight an army while babysitting the monkeys, teach them sign language so that they understand when you tell them why they are going to die if they dont do what you want them to do.
League is a game based around knowledge, so if you know more than anyone else, you are the best player in the world.
