Has League of Legends Scaled Well with Itself?

I would say no. Only champions released OVER FIVE YEARS AGO are less than 6300 BE. That is kinda crazy when you think about it.

Plus, what's the deal with Champion Shards? Using one to buy a 4800 BE champ gives you a whoop-de-doo discount of 960 BE. I was away from the game for a while and just recently came back, but it sure seems a lot harder to unlock characters now.
