Knowing Your Role Before Champ Select

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to implement something to let you know what role you'll be playing on the accept/decline screen? (right before champ select)

Pros:

-No one is forced to play a role they're not comfortable with, so less games lost in champ select -No more running it down mid because someone got a role they don't want to play -Less/no dodges (since you can simply decline the match if you get filled) and therefore less overall queue time -FINALLY have the option to choose whether you want to get filled or not depending on if you want to wait longer to play your main role/champion or if you'd rather get in a game faster -Don't get punished by RNG -System can't be abused since you can still get a penalty for declining too many matches -More to be added?

Cons:

-Accept/decline screen is meant to be only a ready check -Could create an unfair advantage if only one team has a member that was filled -Longer queue times because of declined ready checks -More to be added?

the problem with this is it defeats the entire purpose of Auto Fill. if they didn't want us to never be auto filled they would just not have it and make longer que times, thats essentially all this would do, is create longer ques because of declined ready checks

I think the way the system works now is that the longer you're in queue, the more likely you are to be filled. If too many people decline ready check, you could choose to get filled or not, having the choice being the whole purpose of this

That would still increase queue times, because the system now simply doesn't allow anyone to hit "no" to autofill. If it did, queue timers would increase for anyone not playing support. There's no way around that conundrum.

I get the idea but at the same time, it won't work in low elo like ever. This is because there is a very huge majority of players there that just hate playing support. If they get filled which is most likely gonna mean that they have to play support, they will just decline the match everytime.

The drawback and incentive to not do this is if you queue for mid/bot or anything with higher queue times, youll get irritated after declining so many lobbys. Starting over in queue sucks when you miss a ready check

But by declining they'd have to click find match again so the odds of them getting filled again immediately are much lower

So the issue is that it can already be hard to not have people dodge ques if they get their secondary role. To let them get out of even easier is going to greatly extend que times.

Wouldn't this save the time lost in champ select only for them to dodge tho? I've had times where people dodged literally 4 times in a row only to then dodge myself to avoid an unnecessary loss. I get that this is an extreme and unlikely scenario, but so is the one where everyone just declines ready check so much to the point where you have to wait 10 or more mins

The difference is that when they dodge they can’t que again for 10 minutes (the dodge timer), vs me getting qued over and over again with people who won’t take an off position. By slowly eliminating people who dodge, I get a que that succeeds.
