I hit gold 5 this season have 10-12 wins over losses. Yet I get placed with silver 1s to silver 4s on my team. I win a game get about 15-18 lp lose a game lose about 20-22 was wondering why its so difficult to climb this season.

CoolMike1271 votesThat means that because of your match-ups with both teammates and enemies, your mmr is higher than the average of that game, so if you perform poorly against "weaker" opponents, you would lose more lp than gain, since they were "weaker."
Being in Gold 5, will still get you match-ed with mid-high silver players, since it is borderline.
Sona Ping1 votesIt's because although your win/loss ratio has recently improved, you are still actually are at the level of an average Silver I. You are below your division, not above.
Also remember in Elo systems, it's not just whether you win and lose, but it's who you win and lose to.

Silvers are easy I didn't play serious in my last two games and still won
