Cheats in Custom Play to Improve In-Game Knowledge by Creating Easy Ways to Test Builds

I believe that sometimes when I wish to play a new champ, I have one of three choices. First is to play a game with him and run the risk of getting yelled at, countered, camped and not knowing what to do and generally having a bad playing experience. The second is playing a bot game and not getting the proper representation of a build or not competing the build due to the skill cap in bot games. Or three, gather a few friends, or go solo, and play a custom and farm for 30 minutes and work to not accidentally end the game, or have the game end in general, only to have a few satisfying minutes of full build before ending.

My proposition to the Riot Team, is to add to the custom game an option to turn on cheats, and have two things happen, first is we, as a community have the ability to learn the game and have access to better customized builds for a more rewarding experience and better game play during normals, and minimize some of the toxicity that comes from new players to champs, and second have the ability to create a personal URF gamemode, so that you guys would not have to be nagged about it.

Feel free to discuss this option ^_^

I don't even know that they'd need to add cheats just tons of configurability. Bot games would be useful if it didn't have silver and gold players wrecking the shit out of everything for their fwotd.

Yeah, Riot should give "start at mid-game," and "start at end-game" options. ARAM starts at LV3 with 1350 gold to get things going. Options to start a custom game at lv 9 with maybe 4500 gold and one for 18 and infinite gold would be nice.

That would definitely be another option to consider, but alas Riot team will never hear our cries

YES!! THIS IS A GREAT IDEA AND IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN!

Instead Riot will continue observing bots and script users to improve their AI and ignore this post. It is a sad day.

I love messing around in custom games and this seems fabulous and is something I've wanted for a loong time.

This really wouldn't teach you anything about the champion though. You need to know:

  1. How to survive/trade in early lane phase
  2. Where your power spikes are (at what level with how much gold am I particularly strong)
  3. Your core items

For instance, yes at level 18 with IE,Shiv,LW,BT,Zerker Greaves pretty much any champion with ranged AA's is an effective ADC, but with most of them you would never get there (Exceptions being champs like Annie and Ahri who actually do alright in this role).

What you CAN do though is do a custom game. Start with 4 bots on your team and 5 bots on the other team. On the enemy team make sure the bot in the middle (the third one down) is an intermediate Ziggs bot. Go mid and try to farm perfectly without fighting/dying to ZIggs bot. (DO NOT KILL HIM, YOU CAN'T GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE GETTING KILLS IN A REAL GAME). If you manage to get perfect/near perfect CS you will see a more accurate representation or where your power level would be at the early points of the game when it actually matters. Just playing a game where you assume you survived to hit 6 items doesn't teach you anything about how to build/when to build what etc. If you really aren't sure how to build for a specific champ/role then you probably don't know exactly what you want out of the champion you're playing. Building to suit your game to game needs is much better than trying to work out which set of 6 items makes you strongest. There is no "perfect build" for your champion, that's ridiculous.

I played Strife in a practice game few days ago, it allows you to customize your level and gold in game. And also allows for a lot of messing around like spawning new heroes you can control, killing all minions and monsters(prevent ending the game) and overall toying around.
