than be autofilled to a role I don't practice with because we can pick 2 roles. Anyone else?

it should lock players into only getting their hovered roles

then after like 1-4 minutes, the game will alert the player and prompt them if they want to loosen their locks so they can get into a game faster (at the cost of potentially not getting their role), or keep their locks to be guaranteed a selected role (at the cost of waiting more).

that way players can decide if they value high quality matchmaking or faster games.

me as hell.

Riot tried that.

The high elo playerbase (and especially the streamers) quickly convinced them otherwise.

Oh, I'm more worried about match quality overall than just autofill. I'd be happy waiting 5 min if matches were closer.

You can always just try to play support intentionally when autofill is on to give yourself a few rounds of autofill protection. This way your dealing with 3 out of 5 roles at the worst, and as supports rarely get hate banned (Blitzcrank shout out for being a frequent exception) you don't need as deep of a champion pool for the role.

20 minutes would be completely unacceptable, I would quit the game.
