If you lose enough games you will, something called mmr will shape who you get matched with based on your wins/losses playing with a certain skill demographic

Rank to 30 in non summoners rift. Everytime you level your mmr goes up automatically so winning in summoners rift while leveling to 30 will eventually raise your mmr in normals to diamond.
