How do you escape D5?

Stormy Scorpion··3 votes·2,178 views

I've been stuck in D5 for over 150 games. I need suggestions on how to get better so I can climb. Thank you.

Easiest way to escape D5 is to just demote to P1, bam you've escaped!

Maybe stop sucking? You're there for a reason and if u can't climb out, thats your own fault.

Sucking? Diamond 5 right?

Hell if I was Diamond 100 I'd be happy. I think you guys just need to realize that you're in a good place, a place where people don't face check every bush and ignorantly chase teemo's into the jungle.

"Sucking" is subjective. If you aren't good enough to climb out of your elo (unless you're like rank 1 challenger), then you belong there. This is true for any player of any elo.

Dude, he's asking for tips on how to get out. He want's to improve, and never said he thought he deserved better. Stop being such a twat and provide something useful instead of criticizing this dude

SexyGamer1 votes

No, I have no obligation to do this. And you don't understand that taking criticism is an important part of trying to get better at the game?

Slythion1 votes

There's a difference between giving constructive criticism and being a douche and calling it criticism. Criticize someone with useful tips, not just straight up insults

Man if that's how you're gonna be, then why bother posting at all? Stop sucking is extremely generic, and pointlessly rude criticism.

Ok so the OP posts "I've been stuck in [insert elo] for [insert #] games" which is a GENERIC post and doesn't post anything specific as to what they are struggling with. Right, totally going to help anyone who would like to post something useful without being generic. Majority of players aren't in diamond. I hope you know this.

you win more than 60% of your games and you pub stomp on all the plat 1 wannabes who are trying to scrape their way in and on their pile of corpses you will eventually ascend to d4.

At this point, you've pretty much honed to the fact that you have good mechanics and good decision making skills (or so one would assume), plus you also must have a lot of experience playing on the Summoner's Rift map, and also knowing many champions in and out, their counters, etc. You're also familiar with items, how they work, what goes best with each champion's kit, and you can figure it out on your own, no guide needed.

At this point, it's really up to you to look at na.op.gg and check your teammates quickly. This advice isn't really mines, it's from this person who's consistently climbed to Master and Challenger.

What you should be doing is: -go to na.op.gg at the start of champion select. -check your teammates and see if they're on tilt -see what roles they normally play, the champion stats they have -you then decide whether or not to queue dodge (this also preserves mmr, which is reflected at the beginning of every seasson when you do placements)

In D5, if people are stuck in a rut like you, you may not want to play a ranked game with them, but that's just my opinion.

Should probably ask somewhere that isn't G5&B. --

Have you tried winning? That typically helps you climb.

you need to play a lot more games. your LP gains are probably not very big, so you're going to have to grind a lot harder. playing 1 game every other day isn't going help you escape when you're bordering 50% winrate in ranked.

You don't unless you're extremely good. When I hit Diamond V, I immediately started getting + 10 for a win and -30 LP per loss. The MMR changes drastically when you get there.

After looking into it, I found some evidence showing the skill gap between D5 and D4 is similar to the gap between silver 5 and diamond 5 (to put it into perspective)
