AP ALISTAR MID VS AP MALHAZAR MID

I need help with this new update regardless this Malhazar. I've been playing Ali as AP TANK mid and this new update with this Malhazar totally counters my combo w,q,r then flame. I usually do damage at early using this combo w,q & r. But this combo is useless due to Malhazar shield. I can't push through and can't do damage. After my combo, I end up running away to his little summoned minions.

Can anyone help me to counter this Malhazar new update. Really pissed me off*[slayer-jinx-unamused]* ...

Trading with him isn't a good idea, you should just farm, but if you insist on fighting, ram into him first so that you're actually in the same position as him but he won't go anywhere because of his anti cc, wait a second or two for his shield to drop, then knock him up...assuming you're still alive by then. Or just ask a jungler to gank or simply ban him.

Or, get that hextech item that shoots projectiles or frost queen, use that first to make his shield drop, then after his shield drops use the combo.

My guess would be to get that hextech thing because it also gives you health, which you need if you're going to let him land an ability on you while his shield drops.

Don't go for a full W+Q combo. When his shield is up, just W into him and save your Q for 1 second when the shield wears off. The cooldown on your W is much shorter than his passive cooldown, which resets on taking champion damage. If you can, simply use your E and walk up to him. The damage from your passive will pop his shield and you'll be free to wreck him.
