Highest Rank Achieved

Will League of Legends institute a policy similiar to Overwatch for end of season rewards? I was all geeked for reaching Diamond V the other night but now I feel as if I am being punished with the inability to play for fear of demontion before the end of season.

I understand the fear of players hitting a higher rank then afk'ing the rest of the season causing a stagnant pool of dead accounts but there has to be a better way then forcing me to grind a new account up to play on.

Well, if you don't play Plats and higher derank slowly right.

You should get the reward for highest rank achieved that season? What is the OW system?

I don't play Overwatch, but if you mean that their rank system rewards you on your peak rank for that season there has been some issues Riot has had with that in the past. People can exploit peak rewards through lowkey boosts that they will eventually demote back down from, but would still get the rewards for whatever rank they were boosted to before the season ends.

It takes a lot of losses to demote a tier. When I hit Silver last season, I had to pace myself after even the tiniest lose streak to avoid going on 10 games lose streaks which will put you in danger of demotion. In general the normal win 2 lose 2 back and forth the average player experiences won't put you in danger of demotion. Just avoid long lose streaks at division 5 0 LP. Also, just after being promoted, you have a 10 game immunity from demotion so it's super hard, damn near impossible to demote after being promoted.
