Riot, your game is being outclassed by the OG at this point
The beauty of league came from its simple design, very good to learn as a complete noob to MOBAs. MY god, being told to build a thornmail on Ashe VS Yi made me feel like you just got checkmated. It's been nearly 9 years since that magical feeling. So much has changed with the game, we had hit our peaks, but for the past 2 seasons it's been a decline for me.
Bugs, Client, RNG... Just too many things that keep compiling on one another. The community that gives its damnest to point out certain elements of this game needs to change was told by riot themselves (paraphrasing here) they could care less about boards, when reddit can be their yes-man for all their skins, their gameplay changes, hell even Twitter has become their discussion boards for number tweaks. They built this forum to be so much like reddit and guess what they wanted, reddit. You can't criticize Riot on Reddit like you can here. Their moderation team, unless it's heavy dissent amongst the community like the sex allegations, compared to when people actually sided with nubrac, you would get silenced.
I really jumped into the community aspect of this game, because believe or not everyone. We helped build this fucking game with our input and ideas. We kept this community alive through the smallest interactions like laughing fish shitposting another spongebob meme or just simply having a good fucking time in league of legends spamming emotes.
My personal opinion, they have tried waay to hard to keep their esports scene relevant. There are a lot of die hard fans for esports, but League is surely not becoming a favorite anymore. Lets do a comparison, I just started playing Dota 2 and it was so complex I nearly quit the game, but I slowly started appreciating how different and challenging the game could be. When I take a look at their esports scene, their casters, and the pro plays are just so unique and fun to watch. They incorporate esports into their game, like a small tickle with a feather. They have chat wheels with recognizable quotes from their esports like CEEEEEEEEB and allow you to pick your favorite esports team and sprays. They don't force you or demand you watch their esports for your weekly quests or some bullshit like that. You can even watch pro-play replays on demand through their "WORKING CLIENT" BTW, Did I mention DOTA 2 has one of the best clients? You can do literally everything centered around teh game. You can look up guides in their client, you can matchmake while spectating someone's game like the high MMRs to stay IN THE CLIENT. I find myself alt-tabbing out of league of legends faaaar to often, the only thing you have to do is roll for skins and thats it. Dota 2 client is just soo much better to keep you in the game. League of Legends needs to metamorphisize into a grand player if they stay relevant, Dota 2 had its fair share of early troubles, but they're still one of the best games out there and not a lot can be said about league of legends now. There is too much apathy, trolling, little feedback about punishments. It makes us feel there is no support or soul helping us remove these people from the game. There are too many bots, there are too many elo boosters, smurf account websites, hell even old accounts from league of legends are now being hacked and sold on the black market.
It's just not fun league of legends, your game was something special and now you want to pretend and keep basking in the golden glow of piss. I haven't played this game for months. Its become almost a chore to boot up the client at this point. I wish you all the best Riot Games, I'll keep watching the forums for a symbol of hope that someday you will listen to us here on the boards
