Kassadin Ultimate Changes Idea

tl;dr Rift Walk gains charges as he cast, each charge costing additional mana and increasing in range and dmg.

So I've played a lot of kassadin since I started playing League back in 2011, and I know he's always in this weird state of balance, and I think riot does a great job in particular with never changing the feel of his kit and playstyle. My idea for the ultimate change instead of them just trying to find a range "ok now its good not op."

Rift Walk gains charges with each cast; each charge costing additional mana and increasing in range and dmg. (as of 5.4) base range 450 + 75x(stacks) I really think it adds good power to what he does well already, and even gives him some more strategic options, as well as leaving an open weakness for the enemy to play around I think also adding a visual effect per stack would be very nice also to give enemy's a notice "guys kass is getting stronger" something that looks like the jungle buffs, Molten shield, sunfire effect, etc. and just gets brighter per stack.

I like the lore-wise fact that he is actively risking going into the void to get to where he needs. So, you'd think that he wouldn't risk going into the void too often? So that would mean maybe a decreasing range with it starting with it being long, with a cap of course.

Of course we could also argue that increase exposure to the void would be strengthening him, since he got his power by withstanding the void and accepting it in to him. Which would of course lead to your buff and things. Ooohh, I also like the visual looker, but it'd be hard to notice since new buffs coming in would result in 2 second cds for his ult.

On one last side note, they main reason they nerfed range in the first place is because he could easily eliminate squishies from the back lane. An increasing range might end up with weird things like Kass's teleporting short distances to increase that range, while his team stalls a fight. IE Pre-rework Cass using Q on nothing just to keep up the mana-reduct.

I didn't really take lore into account tbh. And this for his current ult on live/pbe as of today. And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing because it becomes a trade off vs getting the range b4 the fight vs how many ulti's i can get before I run oom (kinda like sacrificing survivability for a guaranteed combo.)
