Riot are you trying to make fun of the people who played Rengar?

So since the assassin update hit we, the rengarmains, have been complaining that we do not like his kit because it feels slow, clunky, and overall bad. We shared our opinions with you once and a Rioter answered with a "Q:nice meme". We created the first champion-related megathread here in the boards to share with you our feelings and give some advices of what we would like to see. RiotRepertoir answers and says that he agrees with some of the points. Recently, the balance team said in an AMA in the r/lol that they wanted to buff Rengar because he was underperforming. (I dont really think he needs buffs because buffs just wont solve the gameplay issues that Rengar has)

AND NOW WE SEE THE BUFFS AND... SURPRISE!!!! ARMOR INCREASED FROM 22 TO 25

Seriously, are you trying to make fun of the players that enjoyed playing Rengar in the past? Is that what you really want?

Could be worse. At least Rengar can still delete people. Shaco on the other hand is steaming hot garbage, and will be left as such for the next few years before Riot finally decides to rework him.

Okay rengar is still viable. Rengar is not weak. Can't say much about his kit except i enjoy it. But you are calling yourself a main? 3 armor are 3 armor to help his early clear. Be grateful riot is love tapping him back to give him some better clear to help him instead of letting it rot. All i can say are "mains" (abusers) who are sad they can't just oneshot triple Q anyone anymore on level 3

None of the assassin mains except talon and part of the katarina mains like their reworks (and I only say part with kat because I always see a few comments every now and then that say how they used to main her and like it now so I take that into account.) And in my opinion all the reworks feel clunkier and slower than what they used to be because they are. Riot thought slowing down everything was the way to be counterplay for the assassins and technically they were right that was one way but the people who played the shit out of them before this counterplay was added felt it the most because everything just doesn't feel right.

It's probably an attempt to see him at Worlds, given the patch on the PBE is the one the pros will play on. But to go along with that, even if they have an idea of what they'll do for him, this is not the patch to do it, considering the last time they made sizable changes before Worlds, it was the Juggernaut update and that was chaos (near 100% pick/ban mordekaiser).

So it's three-fold: they want to see him at Worlds, they might not have an actual plan for him yet, and even if they did this is the worst patch to push those changes out on.

I mean, arguably, a lot of what Old Rengar's liked in the past are things that are hard for Riot to compromise on. New Q may feel bad, but at least it separates the damage into 2 parts, slowing the kill rotation a little. Old Q had that "que while mid-air", which for Rengar players felt extremely smooth, lowered the time of reaction to almost none.

Realistically, I'm more than certain you're only going to be seeing small number buffs. While you're right that he needs a rework/mini-rework, I don't think the problem he has right now is "not enough damage", but just not being able to fight against others in our Support-Actives meta.

So I really don't see your complaint. If it is just "he needs a rework", well like no duh, but you really got to know what his current problem is, if you want to solve it.

I kinda dont want them to buff him and just change him. No buffs just rework him like azir and ryze, you also know why they didnt give him a real significant buff, because this rengar is just as toxic as the old one and they cant buff him without breaking him thats why no real significant buffs where given. Thats wh they nerfed him, you wanna know why rengars q still deals less then his auto for a few levels because if they buffed it it would be broken, you wanna know why they wont buff his w, because it would be broken. This new rengar isnt anything significantly improved except making his ult unassassin like and turning him into a full diver. so your wondering if they made fun of us with these buffs no fam they made fun of us when they reworked the champion and they give us a nice q meme, told us that rengar would be an assassin then gave us the full immunity from cc as an escape instead of something practical.

Also another thing is they literally proved themselves that the rework was a failure when they changed duskblade to what it is now, because when you think about it anything with duskblade now is like the old rengar there is no reaction at all its a complete joke.

its very likely they are thinking they didn't want his q to be an extra delete button on our keyboards. Sadly the old rengar was available in two forms: Instagib rengar who can oneshot people with a single combo, and kitten rengar you know the one who cant do jack diddly without dieing.

They altered his q and ult alittle but overall they figured an AoE one two attack would make up for the fact that hes no longer much of an assassin but more of a fighter
