Getting matched against high elo players

So this most recent season while playing 3v3 ranked several friends and I have been repeatedly queued up against players that are two or three elos above us. We are all mid silver currently(two of us were gold 5 last season and one was silver 1) and we are repeatedly getting matched against high plat and even a diamond player or two this season. It makes no sense that you would allow us to be matched up against these level players when we couldn't even queue up with them in a duo. Riot please address this because it isn't fun to get repeatedly rekt by people who are clearly better than us both on paper and in practice.

odds are, that is their solo/flex 5s rank not their 3s rank. If you're looking them up on a sight like LoLskill or anything like that it's not telling you what they are in current match making, just what their highest rank is.

  • This is just me so don't bring out the fire and the pitch forks please, but if I got matched with such higher elo players I would be happy honestly for a number of reasons. Now first yes facing higher opponents is rough and yes it may not be fun or just plain and simple just isn't fun getting " rekt" by them so I do understand that.
Whenever I face higher up elo players in my solo Q games I'v been against either Gold 2 players / multiple Plat players from S6 where they could have had delayed LP loses etc that's whenever I learned, played, and got to see what type of player I was. I saw I needed to work on a few things and by getting destroyed in certain games was just a small taste that told me I wasn't ready for the higher up tiers or divisions etc but needed to improve on certain things.

I can see the " It makes no sense that you would allow us to be matched up against these level players when we couldn't even queue up with them in a duo " So you're a mid Silver ( Silver 3 ?) and possibly duo with a possibly Plat player; wouldn't you be facing possible 3-4 Gold 1 players/Plat players anyways.

My point is if I was in your shoes I would be proud that I'm facing high Plat/Diamond players especially if I finished a year before (Gold) but currently in Silver in Ranked/Normals/3v3 etc. It means you have a decent MMR and overall good at the game, but like I said I do understand what you are saying, so please don't beat me up with your words I mean you no harm.

No no, I would never go full flame on anyone so no worries there. I appreciate you both weighing in on the discussion and I think that has definitely added some different thoughts and clarity to the discussion overall. Thanks guys!

You have some nerve with " weighing in " what are you calling me fat ? You SOB - JK, LOL ( insert bad joke here) but in all seriousness you can learn so much in defeats as people normally only want to improve once they lose etc and would you rather want to lose to players lower than you/ on the same scale as you or lose to much higher up players ? Gl in your future games.
