So why is nobody talking about Ornn

In a very simplified nutshell ornn is Wukong cdr in abilities with pretty lot of cc and both very high tankyness and low mana costs.

Just laning against him brings you agony: You are close - he will W/Q you His Q is on cooldown he wil W you. His W is on cd he will Q or auto you get that grasp. You are next to wall he will E you. His ulty doesn't give him ton of damage with ability to chain all of his abilities and maybe oneshot you if he is ahead or you are forced to stand under turret.

Overall all of this sounds ballanced right? I didn't mention all of his kit but this is enough anyway....

PS: he counters - a tank that counters Darius man.... that blows my mind everytime I think about it.

Everyone is talking about Ornn. You're opinion really isn't special. Problem is everyone in top lane is so shit that it better to pick a champion like ornn whos whole benefit is late game item upgrades that inflate a teams gold value. Top comes down two things: can you either go even or win lane and are you beneficial to the team after laning phase. If Ornn is killing you in lane youre over commiting or underestimating his damage. Ornn doesnt even win most of his games till 30 min lol.

Orrns W is over tuned the rest of his kit is undertuned. His kit is also super clunky and doesnt scale well outside of maxing W first. they did that so that they wouldnt have to do any work actually balancing the champion. Darius counter Melee by being over stat. Tanks in general counter bruisers because riot stuffs tanks with % hp damage and stuff bruiser items with hp as the main stat and ad as an off stat
