Maybe some new support champs might help?

Please give us a dedicated support champion that has something new. The other roles seem to have so much more variety and champions to choose from. It's no wonder that people are taking "interesting picks" into support just to get a little excitement out of the role. I love playing support personally but I can understand why people have opinions of support that it is boring, or doesn't take any skill, or just is a crap role. Seems like every other Role is getting plenty of attention. Now with Riot looking at support, I'm hoping to see some new options, there are basically 12 "real" support champs. I feel like making the supports free isn't going to draw the attention, but making support something new might.

When a new champ comes out people always try and play it in support hoping that it will be interesting and new, taliyah, Ivern... anyone. Maybe this is an indicator that they just don't find the champions interesting. Which leads to singed, syndra and many other supports which people consider troll. Where is the support hype?

TL;DR Give us more support champions to interest players with all kinds of play styles that way people don't have to make "strange" picks to make the role more appealing when they are "stuck" with it.

I've been trying to get Riot to give us some specialty supports that play with vision as part of their core gameplay (as well as adjust wards to make vision more scarce, fallible, and interesting... that's another post though) but as of yet they haven't gone that route.

Their kits aren't perfect, but ideally you could make flashy plays and I think the concepts have merit:

  1. An oracle champ who plays on the idea of a 'psychic watcher' by controlling her Field of Sight in conjunction with her abilities and manipulating the vision of allies and enemies.

  2. An adorable yordle thief champ who is super sneaky, has invis for her allies, great mobility, and an ability that is reminiscent of wards but is a pretty unique way of getting sight.

Well supports have to have less champion releases since every year another champion gets played as support in worlds. Its kind of like you get an extra release every September-October.

Carries are just going bottom now ha. They don't need to create supports. Get ready for all the Lux supports with the new skin.
