Okay so I was just wondering if the macbook air can handle league, I'm getting one for college and league is just a relaxer and I was wonder if the air can handle it.

A toaster can run League. That being said, this borderline equivalent will not do so very well. Specs are just weak.

Also, insert obligatory (yet truthful) "Macs are awful" joke here.

It'll be fine. I'd highly suggest upgrading your RAM to 8 GB though. Your macbook will be slow without it in general, not just when playing League. Just system processes takes up 1/4th of it, and running any web browser will almost certainly take up the rest. It's an extra $100 that you really would benefit from spending.

it can handle league easily. but it does get very hot and loud after a while. i have tried it on my macbook air, and it can do it on medium settings easily. just try to not let it overheat!

From what I've heard, your problem will be the Mac Client. I recommend Dual Booting Windows.

The Mac Client isn't as bad as everyone says, dual booting isn't necessary. I've had more glitches with the Windows one tbh (permissions issues and trackpad issues).

do you play with a trackpad?

I used to on my mac. It doesn't work with the windows client, it constantly thinks I'm clicking.

Fan runs a little loud. Mac client is actually fine. --Tip, if you freeze loading in-cmd tab, close league, relog in and you'll be in game faster than waiting for league takes to figure its life out. Thats the only client problem i encounter Graphics all around mid setting with things like shadows (and other non important stuff) at minimal will let you run 50-60 stable fps

I have a 2013 13 inch 4gb ram Macbook Air

Side notes for people. Yes a windows set up CAN run it better. But for the casual gamer/person that wants a laptop for life and not league, a Mac is fine.

I recommend a laptop cooler, one of the ones that has the laptop elevated with its own fan to keep it cool, air's are notoriously bad at staying cool. Ironic given the name. but it should run league just fine, might have to be on low settings though.

My mac is almost always cool, thats why I like it.. then again I abstain from running anything big on it

an Icepack would probably achieve the same results as an external fan would for the mac cuz the fking vents arent on the bottom side on the mac -_-

doesn't have to be on the vents to be effective, but yes an icepack would work just as well, as long as it stays cool long enough

I have been running league on an Air for a year at max settings and never drop below 60 fps

As I sit here in my college dorm typing this on my macbook air just like you will some time in the near future I'll tell you this... FUUUUUUUCK no

I love my macbookair.. this things like batman silent and if the fans(does it even have fans?...) whatever it is when it staarts making sounds from the heat, I know something is up and I dont like it

I run hearthstone and photoshop on this thing and it already heats up like crazy can't imagine leaving up for extended amounts of time like you would need to for league games

I'm not so much worried about performance... just the integrity of my mac
