Azir buffs, is it the right part of his kit ?

It is great to see that the emperor is finally getting some love, but who is the target audience for these buffs ? I really dont think ive ever been in the situation where i thought, if just my ult was a bit wider, and the extra 2 seconds duration is nice vs morde where you can block him off during his ult, but thats about it.

Im sure the buffs wil impact pro play but i think there could have been other buffs that would impact his game on a much larger percentage of players, not only the top players but all players without making him too strong in either pro or soloq.

I know azir is champ where numbers matter a lot, but i really think this is the case for him to reach a state where it is fun to play as and against him.

Personally i think the soldier command range and Q range should be increased, otherwise Azir is a very decent champ.

Have a nice day :)

LOL you want HUGE buffs .

I thought you was gonna ask for like 10 extra damage on Q or some extra AS on soldiers.

But you want RANGE? So you want everything in his kit to be better AND safer and EASIER.

The buff they gave him is nice because it will be harder to split up vs his R.

Azir doesn't need to be viable pre diamond 1. Cause that would make him extremely OP in pro/masters+.

The buff is great imo.

funny i didnt put down any numbers, im not talking about 800 command range and 875 q range, like it once was, maybe small babysteps of 30 range increase.

Nah, Azir can function as is, longer range gets him TOO FAR out of the fight for all the defensive/zone utility he has.

I like putting power in his R, because it's not generic power he can abuse during every fucking second of the game. And that was mainly the problem with azir, he was too good and too reliable without down times.

So you think adding 30 range on command range and q range would make him op ? i disagree on that. Personally i think azir is viable in all ranks unless your team refuses to play with you.

I think his range was the part of his kit that was proven problematic in the past and I would rather see them buff something that hasn't.

And if all else fail THEN ponder into that. If he is still weak after buffs on R, Passive, Damage, shield, mana costs. Only then would I even consider buffing his range in any way.

It's just how I view balance.

I think buffing his range would be the same as if next patch they decide to buff akali and the first thing they do is give her back her innate Q heal or her tower invisib.

i imagine we can agree on the fact that azir does need range, he is not melee after all. After his q Cd increase i feel there is room for range increase due to the fact that there is 4 sec window even on max rank and 40% cdr where he cant move his soldiers.

They even lowered the range on that ability a good while ago because it was too long.

Also, 30 range is something bad players can't use, but good players can, so any amount of range buffs are HUGE to pro play while being trash for lower elos. You see people play Irelia (200 range) not even abusing the 75 range difference they have over champs like Jax or Tryndamere or others who have 125 range, and you think less than half that is something people at lower ends can use?

Please....

i hope they would, i dont know the point where they would and would not. As of now Diamond + azir is at a 48,3% winrate mid, i really doubt this would make him op. but thats just me.

Again, small range buff is not something that the general playerbase can use, but the high ends can.

And there's your problem, if you want the general "day to day" player to be able to use the range buffs, it needs to be at least 100 or more, because as seen from Irelia's situation, a 75 range difference is not something players can use, but 100 range is too fucking much.

So that's the problem, small buffs like that only benefit the players who know how to abuse them, but those players are already the high ends. Lower ends can't use them, so it's a pointless buff.

Riots argument for buffing Azir was litterally that he was not getting picked in high elo, not doing so good.

My guess is that this is Riot basically saying "Azir is fine/good atm, but no one plays him. Here's a reminder he exists. Try him out!"

why buff him 2 patches in a row then ?

Hethalean1 votes

Same reason, just people didn't think it was enough, when it should have been. His previous buff was nearly a do nothing buff as well. 25 damage on his ult plus it lasts a bit longer? don't think that's game changing.
