A system that rewards individual performance

Even if you play like a god and go unkilled the entire game if you lose then you lose. You lose LP and nothing else is gained. Riot should introduce a system that rewards players for good individual performance such as a strong kda or cs/min. These rewards dont have to be big maybe just gain a little more ip or lose a little less LP. This way a least riot acknowledges that you did well and the game doesnt feel like a complete waste of time. This also would compel players to improve and maybe make the community less toxic.

OMG! I said the same thing on the league of legends NA group page on Facebook and they mocked the shit outta me! I always wanted that. I think SOLO Q should focus on its lp distribution on SOLO performance rather than Ranked Flex which should give extra focus to macro team composition and play and who was overall a better team. SOLO Q should put into consideration SOLO performance more than it does on who broke the nexus first. Some players earn lp by getting carried and doing nothing all game but feed or at least not be as impactful. I don't think that a player that did good and lost would lose a good chunk of lp and be hindered in solo Q and someone that basically did bad would climb up for having good friends that can carry i.e. getting boosted. People objected saying solo performance cannot be measured even with after game graphs and stats but I beg to differ cause all of those stats should be taken into consideration to rank someone and as consistent as they are with them they should be rewarded some decent lp and as bad as they are they should lose lp. I just want the hardworking players feel rewarded for doing their best. And the feeders to learn to play better and become able to do their best and carry their own weight as well.

  • I should add that Riot seems to be headed to anywhere but that direction because now the honor system doesn't even allow you to honor good opponents like before. Like I hate to win with a troll tryndamere split pusher against someone that outdid me in lane for example but because I am just an unkillable swordsman managed to win in the end and then not be able to at least honor him for being a good player. It's less sportsmanship that way and I kinda dislike it.

The idea has merit if used as an IP increasing mechanic as it gives you a token gift to recognize your effort. However, having it mitigate LP loss seems like a way to discourage teamwork and reinforces/promote a 'ZOMG I MUST PROTECT MUH PRECIOUS <metric used here, probably KDA, to represent what a good game for a player is>' mentality.

A question though, how would you measure a 'good game' for a player who doesn't revolve around CS/Min or has a KDA that's a heavier emphasis on assists (like, say, a support?). Need a method (or methods) to achieve this proposed idea across all the roles and not just the rockstar roles in a team comp.
