Has anybody noticed lately, that brand is, how should I say this, secretly op. For his skill set not being tremendously complicated (and I don't want to talk about some hit boxes), the champion deals a lot of damage (even with the spells he can't miss). Sum that up and the way the items he builds compliment his kit, it makes him a really unbalanced champion.
Well that's my opinion. Thoughts?

Take a look at syndra then take a loot at brand
Syndra wins in
Range Mobility (she can move while casting) Range Pick off potentional (Something Brand doesnt have at all) Spammability (Shorter cooldowns) Burst (She can make it so that all her abilities land in about the same time) AOE (Every mage does AoE damage this is why Brand spread the damage niche doesnt work, its so easy to outclass that) Level 1 throw a buff cheese Scuttle control CC (By alot) Escaping well her E is quite reliable knockback at worst while brand needs to hit 2 abilities to stun Singletargeted burst (Does brand even have that??? Nope) Reliability (how easy her abilities are to land overall easier then brands)
The only thing brand had over other supports was Spellthief synergy. That is how he survived in a lane he wasnt designed for after being outclassed by roughly 5 mid mages.
But now that spellthief synergy is gone???? And thats where the brand story ends. He now roughly gains 1000 gold less per game
Challenger players play Taliyah support over brand for example. It didnt catch on yet to low Elo but oh well Zyra, Velkoz, zilean are all better Brands (Infact Zilean is OP, wierd champ he enhances OP champs...)
The whole pillar of flame poke can be outclassed by Soraka E max

but what's the point of comparing syndra to brand when they're not even played at the same role anyway ?

She does very much so. There are many clips of Syndra AOE one shoting 3 people within 0.1 seconds with WQE Brand AOE can be better if all stars align. Brand AOE often times relies on Enemy team incompetence which is bad

?????????????????????? Thats not how safety works at all like not even 1% Plus Brand 2ND q doesnt stun anyway by the time it comes up unless for whatever reason brand saved one of his abilities because other abilities average 5 seconds longer cooldown than sear

Look even if it were its by small % in those cases where all starts align Brand would still be outclassed in to many different ways by syndra

True he has more niche item build. But he is none the less forced to build chapter item If we get a mana keystone then perhaps brand LL come online faster with rylai liandry

Because Brand no longer gains 10283103812 gold due to spellthief and he is quite a noob bait support pick atm yet he cant return mid due to Syndra, Veigar and few others.
But Brand support > Syndra support because Syndra is level reliant
However at that point Brand is outclassed by Velkoz and Taliyah support most notably Brand used to be better then Velkoz only due to spellthief
Hotarµ2 votesThe main reason he's not unbalanced is because he has no mobility or sustain of any kind. His only form of CC can be dodged, and he's also not particularly tanky making him a sitting duck at most points of the game.
I won't lie, I hate fighting Brand supports and it's a little annoying how it's near-impossible to escape his W without boots, but overall Brand isn't one of the worst offenders right now.
Jamaree2 votesHe gets to have so much damage because that is LITERALLY all he gets. He doesn't get to dash around the battlefield, he doesn't have sustain for days, he doesn't have sustained damage over time, his range is middling, his CC takes set up AND can only hit a single target and he is squishy. So his upsides fairly balance out his downsides.
