What is the optimal build for the new Warwick?

From my experience i found success in tank Warwick, getting blue smite cinderhulk, titanic hydra and then full tank with 40% cdr, abusing his q percentage damage and ult. For masteries i ran 18/12 fervor because his main dmg is all on hit so I get a LOT of fervor procs. I max q>w>e. WW with maxed out w gets 2.5 as when enemies are very low so thats why i havent build AS items. I am also thinking going COLOSUSS but its been nerfed.

I have searched a lot of popular builds, and people still run red smite devourer into botrk into semi-tank. The problem is, he gets blown up early game, and he already gets so much AS from his kit. I know its a lot of dmg, but it seems its just not worth it.

So Im asking you guys for your opinion, ideas and maybe even advice for improving my build!

You way want to wait until Riot tunes him down after the rework hype has settled down.

I can guarantee you that this is not how he will end up.

Do you think he is overtuned? What part of him exatcly?

He has too much sustain built in. I understand that is his thing, but he is just tuned up a little too much, which is understandable considering that he was just released. If they toned it down I think he would be okay.

His mobility is also a little crazy.

I wouldn't be surprised if they decreased the duration of his fear, or just increased the cooldown or mana cost on the ability also.

I think his worst enemy is Void Staff to be honest...I don't think he's too powerful or too weak but I think he's the kind of champion that people will definitely overreact to one way or the other.

I haven't got BotRK on him lately. Sometimes I got it on old Warwick. I might get it sometimes on new one, but I doubt it. I think Warlord's Bloodlust is very synergistic with new Warwick, so I don't really need BotRK's lifesteal. I'd sooner build stuff like Thornmail and Frozen Heart than a BotRK. So far I'm loving Wit's End and am surprised more Warwick players aren't buying it.

I think BotRK technically makes sense on Warwick because it's designed to lower your enemies' current health by large percentages quickly...but oftentimes I don't know where someone is until they're low anyway...so I might as well not try to bring my enemy to less than 50 percent health and just assume they'll be there when I fight them.

If you like the item, I'd just suggest for your allies to buy it for you. That will be a simpler way of taking advantage of it IMO.

Bloodlust is bad if you arent getting AD Crit attackspeed

Tiamat item > Whatever is usuall ww build from what I have seen

Yeah Wit's End is attack speed. I think Phantom Dancer would be fine on him if you wanted to buy it. So far I haven't bothered because nobody else is counter building against the mid lane mages in my games so I end up getting like a Banshee's Veil instead to combo with my E.

I'm actually completely confused as to why anyone would consider Tiamat items since his E scatters the enemy and his R only hits one enemy. Maybe the reasoning is the Tiamat item discourages enemy from grouping up, but it's not like they can't jump out of the way when one person is suppressed so I'm not a fan.

I mean unless you have an Orianna on your team, and she's not very common, I have a hard time imagining you'd get much value out of a Tiamat in the average game. Maybe the Tiamat is a bit of a help for against the enemies trying to body block your ultimate or you just suck at landing it and hit the wrong guy so you need it as a crutch...but I'd think with so much mobility in the game, it would be more of a niche pick than a standard pick.

I'm not saying people aren't buying Tiamat...they are. I'm just saying that they're usually only buying it because it's on the suggested items list.

Phantom dancer is here for yasuo trynamere and ad carries. Avoid it at all cost if you want to climb on anything other

You build tiamat on him because his waveclear is dogshit. Titanic gets proced on ultimate and it turns it in aoe ultimate... Well (Cone ish)

Yeah man...you're an idiot. I'm not going to say jungle clearing isn't important or that Tiamat doesn't help with that, but telling people that you can suppress all the champions in an area is just flat out lying to them. If all you cared about was damage, you could stick to some other champion. I'm not saying Phantom Dancer is great on WW but it's obviously better at least in my mind than Tiamat. Tiamat doesn't give more damage reduction, Phantom Dancer does. Also I noticed some people building Titanic Hydra don't even bother farming their Jaurim's Fist. I'm not saying health items are useless I just think you get more bang for your buck out of WW's kit by buying armor or MR than you will health.

I have found Infinity Edge Phantom dancer to be an incredibly amazing build.

Considering Warwick has a fair amount of sustain built in, Plus the Jungle sustain from items, kinda makes the Life steal a bit menial.

Though I like Frozen Heart, it makes him a bit tankier, and the CDR means you can engage more often. Though I might consider a cheese strat and subbing that item out for ICB, just to make it even harder for the enemy to escape me.

I agree... I hate when people go bloodrazer on my team. He already has the attack speed on passive. I feel like its just a waste and a free -17lp when my ww goes bloodrazer

The one thing I have learned about new WW... he can be built in a lot of different ways. He is very versatile to how and where you play him and against what kind of team. Old WW had a pretty stable build around a few key items. This WW can be built will a lot of different items and still a lot of damage and sustain.
