Ranked ARAM - PARAMOUNT!

Jesus Enslaves··4 votes·599 views

ARAM is without a doubt the best game type on LoL. It requires players to build OVERALL skill as they have to play a VARIETY of champions and variety of positions, regardless of preference. This creates the greatest proving ground to measure skill as the most skilled players are the ones that can win with the chips low. PLEASE. PLEASE PLEASE! Make a ranked ARAM game type, for the love of all that is League.

I'd play only ranked ARAM if it was ranked.

I think I can say along with many others in the community that we have all been asking for this for far too long. It honestly is a far more complex game type then what people give it credit for. Being some times forced to play champions you have never played, or are very bad at playing. So you must learn to play them anyways. Hope to see this finally come to be.

Ranked ARAM will never work.

The balance team is having a hard enough time balancing SR. Some games put you at a severe disadvantage almost to the point where one of them needs to be feeding you continuously for your team to make progress. When it's neck and neck skill wise, you're gonna lose with the random inferior comp you got, so there's no point because it is very luck based. I couldn't imagine how lit the boards would be because it happens frequently enough.

Plus there's people who have ARAM only accounts. They only buy champions that are OP on HA so their chances of getting something like an Udyr are incredibly low. It is far more common than you would think.

which is why they need to make it all champs open but 5 bans per team. Why would banning in a random gametype make sense? to counter the known overpowered champs of ARAM as well as somewhat countering smurfs

They aren't even giving us 4 bans per team on SR. I doubt that would happen anytime soon for ARAM.

You lose games due to comp regardless of gametype. It's a fact of life in League, not a reason to deny others additional options. if there were bans, you could definitely cut that back further, as well. However, theoretically there could be an algorithm based off a wider win-loss margin that mathematically provides leeway for the probability of comp losses. Although, as an afterthought, this could be cut out altogether if they scored each champ individually based on success of role for instance if you have Nautilus, how well you tanked and supported the teams pushes etc would be factored in more heavily or HOWEVER Riot can fairly work out to do it. I believe in them. They can do this. Also, I don't know about you, but I've won plenty of ARAM games against murderous comps, turning the game around with teamwork and build changes. It's a STRATEGY game. Become a master strategist or just don't play the theoretical game type. Ive not seen a real objection yet with any substance to it....

As far as the account issue goes, that same paradigm exists for 3s and 5's as well. It's part of the game, nothing to cry about, just another angle for YOU to strategize from... Or not.

The difference is that buying more champs actually hurts you in ARAM. In every other game mode in League, buying champs helps you, whether by allowing more options or just by facilitating trades. It's a terrible decision to force, making players choose between (ranked) ARAM effectiveness or effectiveness for everything else.

Although I agree that ranked ARAM would be interesting,

It requires players to build OVERALL skill as they have to play a VARIETY of champions and variety of positions, regardless of preference.

HA is a single lane. How does it possibly test a "variety of positions"? Variety of roles maybe, but not positions.
