Champion end of game rank

Hi all, so I've been looking around with no success, but how does the league system calculate what rank you get on your champions. For example, if i'm playing akali and i end the game at 22/4/3 we surrendered due to 2 afk teammates and only got the first tower of each lane, at the end of the match my rank on the champion is an A, how is it calculated and what do i need to do to improve it?
