Master Yi's Q and W doesn't feel cohensive to his theme.

Master Yi seems like he would be a very agile swordsman who would requires both good reactions and outplay potential. However, he seems to be lacking on one of them.

His Q, while it can dodge abilities, is somewhat limited to the fact you need minions, monsters, or enemy champions near you to properly become invulnerable to skill shots. Even then, becoming invulnerable for an engage mechanism is kind of bad in itself, because it lacks counterplay.

His W makes him heal, which while you can tie into his background a bit, just feels unfitting as an ability for a champion whose identity is supposed to be a swordsman who is defined as a late game monster.

The rest of his kit is fine, but those two abilities feel out of place. As an aside, if the Reds read this, is Yi currently on the radar?

His kit makes perfect sense and has enough outplay potential, get downvoted.

he was released in a very early time. there werent that many ideas during that time that weren't either blatantly ripped from dota or very similar to some of their concepts.

riot was basically more concerned with creating a standalone dota game.

His W feels weak and noone is maxing it, E and R (his AS steroid is kind of weak - 80% - compare to other abilities: Eve has 120 %, Xin - 80%, Rengar - 102% lvl 18, ) are kind of boring. He functions only because of his Q (can crit and proc on hit) and his double strike. (His E true dmg is good, but you have to be kind of tanky to deal sustained dmg and not get instantly blown)

His kit makes perfect sense to him, unless you no wuju.

Wuju is actually a technique that focuses on body manipulation/enhancement, swinging sword is more like icing on cake there.

outplay potential

I also despise this phrase whenever it comes out to play.

His Q.... Even then, becoming invulnerable for an engage mechanism is kind of bad in itself, because it lacks counterplay.

Not when it's an all-in-one spell that has quite an extreme CD and weak damage unless Yi's fed, short ranged, quite taxing on mana and single target/lack of any flexibility as well as being very predictable.
