Hey guys, So this is my first ranked season and I just started my placements.... So, I was wondering if it's possible to get platinum if I win ALL my placements since this is my first ranked season.Yasuo

Probably not... I would place you silver or bronze.

You'll probably be placed in Silver. As that is the baseline. You need to actually grind for higher ranks. Then next yearr you will likely be placed 1 division lower than what you ended as (plat->gold).

Think of it this way. I went 10/0 in placments, my mmr was around p2 according to op.gg since i duo with friends who are all plat+, got placed s1. Highest i think you can get placed is in gold. Op.gg your games while you are playing. If you are paired against current plat players thats a good sign, if not then probs silver.

My friend made a new account, went 8-2 and got silver 1. It started him against low silver, then high silver/low gold when he started winning.

I believe your normals MMR effects it when you first play ranked. I could be wrong, but there isn't really another explanation.

Looking at your matches, its mainly putting you against people anywhere around silver. So if you 10-0 placements, you'll get placed silver 1 with gold MMR (most likely). Which is actually really good. My main account was plat 5 last season, and I went like 7-3 in placements and got placed gold 5. It will just about always place you lower than what you belong. Good MMR means that you'll earn like 20+ LP a win, and lose like 10 or so per loss.

I did get gold 5 on my smurf account but that was also 10/0 with high plat mmr

As of right now, probably silver 5. This site usually can give a moderate estimate of where you will be placed if you look at it right before your 10th game, however it's not perfect. It did predict my starting placement this season though.
