Renting out Champions

How would you guys feel about the ability to rent a champion for a game for 100-300 ip? This way you could try out new champs not in the rotation without Riot losing out on money and you being able to use champions you don't have.

So: -Pay 50-300 ip depending on champion value -Rented for 3 games max (for normal games only) -Must be rented in main menu so that they can still be banned in draft games -Expire after 48 hours if unused to prevent hording/system abuse -Maximum of 3 rented champions at any time -Rented champions do not count towards your minimum required champions for draft mode games -Brand new champions would not be rent-able (max rent-able value of champ should be 6300 ip-to prevent new champs for being used as freebies and keep bringing in maximum value for them) -OR, new champions could be rented once when they come out for 1 game only and then not rent-able until they are down to the 6300 ip value

Also, please up vote this if you like the idea so that Riot and other members can see it. I'm not sure how often Riot read new suggestions so yeah haha

Not for ranked. Otherwise a fantastic Idea for newer players who want to try new champions. My suggestion would be add a 3 game limit that a champion can be rented.

Yeah, I said max of 2 game limit for the rent, or 3.

If it's easier to program, allow rents for WINS and DAYS similar to IP & EXP boosts.

I highly prefer allowing champions to be rented for 1 - 3 - 7 day intervals; obviously with different prices for each.

Because it gives the player meaning and motivation:

Games played with champion: "Oh no, I wasted those games on bots or I lost all these games. I didn't like this champion! I will choose another one next time."

Time consumed with champion: "I had Ezreal for a day, I played him Blue, AP & ADC even support! This champion is totally worth getting, I will buy ezreal when I have enough IP!"

I strongly recommend not allowing this feature for ranked games. Not a good idea in a highly competitive environment.

True, true.

I'd aim for a cost of 150-250 IP to rent a champion for 2 or 3 games. Or 100 IP for 1 game.

That's too much, some champs cost that much lol. It'd scale to a maximum of 300 from 50 in my opinion depending on how much the champions cost so that it's fair. i.e. a 6300 ip champ could be 300 ip to rent

Good point. I hadn't even considered different champion prices, because the only ones I care about now are 7800.

could always use this to get some IP to players who spent time to be able to buy the champ. Lets say I bought a champ and someone I get placed with on champ select wants to play the champ but doesn't have it. It should pop up and basically ask the owner to allow him/her to borrow it for the game. If accepted it should give the owner the rental IP for it and make him/her unable to choose that champ since he/she loaned it out. Of course the inability to choose the champ should only be for the games the 2 play together and for the amount of time it is loaned. Something like this would be interesting lol :D ^ if done this way then the champ could still be banned though...the possibility of them not knowing the champ at all would still be there.

Riot would never do that since that's more free champs to players who rent them out and Riot wouldn't be getting anything. People would just start renting champs and getting more ip to buy more champs instead of buying and spending Rp, IP boosts, etc.

The most I've seen of smite is a trailer so I have no idea what you're talking about lol
