Why do we call this a "team" game?.

I have been playing league for a while now, it has come to my attention that people call this a team game. YET everywhere you read the idea is stupid. Playing ranked is beyond ridiculous. The amount of people that troll or go afk is silly, yet everyones more worried about toxicity. Why should a team game rely on someone having to carry the weight of the team? With that logic why even call it a team game. riot is so easy to punish players for words that are meaningless yet they dont care about bad play. Im not expecting everyone to go MLG and win , obviously someone has to lose for someone to win. BUT that being said i think the rank system is beyond stupid. The skill level of players you get matched with is dumb. Im sorry but this needs to be called League of Legend. Not Legends, around Bronze and Silver. Im glad everyone is having fun in higher mmrs, but considering most population is in lower mmrs we should atleast get some help. Why do I have to carry, my lane, mid , jungle and bot? While encouraging everyone even if they are 0K 9D and still feeding. what of that is a team game? If 1 person has to burden everyone? Flame me go ahead? Unless you can prove that I am wrong by showing me facts that people shouldnt have to csrry their own weight and always need a babysitter then that proves i am right and it is not a team game.

I know all the trolls and senior members will be fast to hop on lolking and look up my stats. Im a very good susupport, very very good. So i have my end covered, i do. "Support isnt a role to carry you out of bronze and silver" wha wha again then why call it a team game? If my team needs me to go 44kills 0 deaths and lead everyone?

Reality of the matter is im still correct as you clearly do not see the question being asked. Not about skill? But the concept that this is NOT a team game and solely requires one person to become Faker status to carry the whole game

Clearly not the case since plenty of people climb slowly from Bronze to high Elo without dominating games or anything. Many of them do it in the support role WITHOUT duo queue. You're in denial.

im in denial? nope. you still have no proof. heres my game report , Support, Leona, 6Kills, 2 Deaths, 36 Assist/ outcome , defeat, why? stupid Riven, dumb adc, and poorly played mid and jungle. YET as hard as i tried to keep everyone together telling the calls, how to play, and tried to keep positive attitude my TEAM refused to listen and keep engaging 1v3 or 2v1. Just admit it, this game sucks at putting "teams" together. Because with out someone being 44kills up, the game just takes your time away and punishes you by removing 4444 LP.

You're looking at an individual game when clearly you can't use individual games as proof of something when you're only 1 out of 10 players.

You want proof? Take a look at this guy. He made a new account, was placed in low Silver (and anyone who's been in silver would agree that everyone in Silver is bad, make similar mistakes to Bronze) and he climbed to high Gold playing only support:

You don't need to do any carrying at all to get out of low Elo. I started LoL in Bronze V and played support only (and never carry supports, I was mainly playing Soraka before she got reworked) and climbed out very easily. The main thing is to contribute more to the game than the opposing support (or whatever role you're playing at the time) is contributing.

If you're not moving up, clearly you're not contributing more than the other guy. Consider how you can improve your game basics - dying less, warding more, giving helpful pings, timing objectives, trading more effectively in lane and so on.

You can literally have your shitty team mates carry you to success if you act as an enabler. Consider playing more "supporty" supports rather than the carry supports all the other idiots recommend.

Ima stop you right there. You basically just gave a textbook answer that everyone in Bronze gets. Yet I really do not think that you understand the quality of players down here fully. i believe you were fortunate to get semi-capable people. However, consider others who despite doing well in lane and even leaving to help other lanes, still lose because 4 out of 5 of the enemy team are fed. No way can you tell me that you are not doing enough to help.

Bronze players claim they get horrible players every game, and yet when I started the game I could play at least 100 games in that Elo WITHOUT CARRYING and still climb out at a steady rate? Statistically it's impossible, one of us has to be wrong. And yet I'm the one who got to higher Elo while you haven't. Trust me, everyone at that Elo was as bad you are or I was.

IGNORE the results of individual games, and FOCUS on SELF-IMPROVEMENT. You WILL lose games where you play EXCELLENTLY. This is a GIVEN since there's only so much influence a single player can have in a 10 player game.

still lose because 4 out of 5 of the enemy team are fed

Use your brain. The enemy team has the same pool of players as your own team. If you're not a bad player as you claim you're not, and if most people in your Elo are bad, then there's 5 potentially bad players on the enemy team and 4 potentially bad players on your team. The fact of the matter is that if you're not climbing, you must be contributing just as little as everyone else in your Elo.

Killing people doesn't contribute much to winning games, so stop using that as proof that you're good. You're in Bronze Elo, so it's a GIVEN that you're bad. Figure out why you're bad and you'll get out of low Elo. Sorry for being harsh, but it's the truth.

I was in the same position as you in the past. I too whined about the same things ("everyone is feeding, I'm the only 'good' player"). Then I accepted that I might be bad, and looked for areas of improvement. I later found out that I didn't even know the basics of the game, even though I thought I did. You'll find that out too, one day, if you're lucky.

Yes I am climbing. I climbed from b5 to b2 and have been up for series for b1 3 times. And yes I agree with the original author of this post. You on the other hand were fortunate with the teams you got. You can't carry with a support. You have neither the damage nor the split pushing power to do so. Let me say it like this. 4 out of 5 people get fed on the enemy team and everytime a team fight happens they mow down our side. And you think you can still carry that? Good luck. I disagree and I still believe you are trying to give a textbook answer when you were clearly gifted through your games. I notice a difference between silver and bronze because I have been in both. It is much harder to get out of Bronze because idiots try the same tactic over and over and over again because they think it will work even though it has failed the first 100 times. You can't carry games where people do that.

You on the other hand were fortunate with the teams you got

Fortunate 10s or 100s of times in a row?

You can't carry with a support

Correct, at least not with the supports I played (some supports like Leona and Thresh can carry), but you're under the VERY false impression that you need to carry in order to win games.

You have neither the damage nor the split pushing power to do so

Correct, but you can do everything in your power to amplify and assist the efforts of your idiotic team mates so that their bad decisions end up having less of an impact.

You are a very egotistical person. If you are in a certain Elo, that means you are INCAPABLE of carrying ANY harder than the other people in your Elo. By DEFINITION of match making that's what it means.

So what can you do to win games? One of two things:

  1. Get better at carrying (the route most people take, which is a very painful and long route)
  2. Get better at supporting (the EASIER route since NOBODY in low Elo knows how to support and yet supporting is EASY to learn)

A team with a capable support is FAR stronger than a team without a capable support. Sure there will be games the enemy is far too fed for it too matter, but in most cases there'll be fed players on both teams, because EVERYONE in low Elo sucks (so there's a 50/50 chance of each lane feeding.

What can you do from the support position? You help your ADC not feed, and if the ADC happens to be better than the enemy ADC (50/50 chance) you can help him win his lane hard. You don't need to focus on CS, so you can provide helpful pings to the jungler, mid, and top laner. You can provide peel and vision in team fights for the top/mid.

What happens if you play a "carry" role? Chances are, your team will have NO support. Sure, you can be egotistical and try to carry yourself, but without a support you'll have a MUCH harder time doing it. Why not take the statistical chance that someone on your team (top, mid or ADC) will be as good/bad at carrying as you are and support them?
