3v3 meta question

Hello! Me and my friends are returning to league. being away since season 1 (long long time it seems). We want to focus on 3v3. That being said, after doing research we have found that the meta includes either Jungle (ad bruiser top, AP control mage bot, and jungler) vs support (ad bruiser w/ smite + tanky cc support + ap control mage bot). My question is simply, why? Why not run adc + support instead of the bruiser? Also, What are the benefits of each comp? is one reasonably better than the other? If u want to play adc+support why not go summoners rift? Every map should have it's unique style and meta or how could it be different map? Twisted treeline was originally the best map for melee champions that struggle from gap close issues. Or for people who HATE waiting for team fights to have some action just because your team or enemy team wants to farm safely instead of taking some risks and having fun. But the new adc+support meta is ruining this map I dont even consider it as a different map from summoners rift it's the same but with only removing jungle and top.
