Ranked has been bad for years now
So for a long time, ever since Riot decided to introduce a ladder climbing system with the whole promotion system, ranked has become a more or less 'locked' system. You can win as many games as you want, climb your way from 3 to 1 in whatever your rank may be. But now you run into the best of 5 thing. Now if you lose 3 of those 5 promo games you are now stuck and gotta do it ALL over again, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
Honestly this isn't a good mechanic, never has been. This is a game that relies on MORE than just you. Because if you alone could just do it, then why is it a team game? Now if your luck is as garbage as mine, you've probably had your fair share of trolls and feeders. Now, the obvious troll picks are very obvious but here's where the whole promo game thing comes into play again. I now can choose to tolerate, hope to carry, and hope to not be weighed down by these troll picks, or dodge, get an auto loss to said promotion, and get a penalty time too. That's the definition of a lose lose situation. Seriously it's a terrible concept to hinder people; to hold them back, because they want to avoid these bad team comps, these obvious troll picks. Such as one where I had a GP and Heimy bot lane instead of an actually adc and support. And while maybe in some cases that could work on the unskilled bunch. Duos that queue up and do this because they want to in ranked, not really cool. I really wish the old ELO system was back. When it was just big numbers, 2200 ELO etc etc. But now we have this ladder climb bronze/silver/gold etc etc going on where you can pretty much get locked into your place because you get trolled or people that don't know how to play and so on and so forth.
This new team builder works, TO A POINT, but falls off in many aspects. Specifically still being that someone can choose to queue up as bot and support, and they don't wanna support so hey guess what now you have 'support' kindred because they don't want to and just did it for a quick jump in queue. Seriously Riot, why do we still have this system? It's terrible, it locks players out, it forces people to just become aggravated because they WANT to play ranked, they WANT that competitive gaming, but CAN'T because you put them in some piss poor thing where if their team holds them back, they just get screwed. End of story.
