Font of Life - How does it actually function? Tool tip is out of date is consensus opinion.
Heya's, It'd be really helpful to know how this rune functions in actuality. A situation I run into quite frequently as Janna is one of my mains is considering "is it worth taking Font of life and not bone plating?". The opportunity cost of not taking bone plating is expensive, and so knowing what one is receiving in exchange feels particularly important on enchanters for example who vs certain match-ups or in situations involving fed carries will survive instead of simply exploding due to bone plating... When one has multiple team members who can utilise Ardent Censor effectively, Font of Life becomes a very attractive option due to for example Janna's Q & W applying the debuff and proccing the Ardent Censer and a possible Athene's Grail passively to everyone instead of actively to a single champion. With the added limitation that Janna might very well be required to shield a team member who can't make good use of the Ardent buff at all. Janna's E cooldown compared to her W's cooldown in earlier stages of the game compounds this interaction it is also worth noting...

It appears the consensus that the heal is instant as opposed to the over time description in the tool tip. Which is correct?

I even read in one post while researching this that someone claimed a champion was self healing with this rune as an ad-hoc life steal. Their evidence did not include whether another enemy team member also had the rune though so I'd tend to put this in the unlikely box. I don't recall self healing off this rune in the past but since the tool tip states otherwise I have not being specifically paying attention to this so I can't currently comment either way and further input would be helpful. It's likely a wildly false claim one finds in gaming forums and I'll check myself and report back, as this would significantly increase the runes value.

Is the effect applied only once per champion for each application or does it function as an ad-hoc Life Steal and proc on every autoattack for the duration of the debuff.

3 ties into #1. Quite obvious napkin math indicates substantially differing HP gains.
Thankyou for anyone's input, and apologies also if this has been discussed elsewhere. I did not find google to be very informative regarding this topic.
