Add the ability to mute pings?

I wouldn't classify this as a common occurrence in my games, however I feel like the issue has enough merit to be worth discussing:

I recently played in a ranked match where two players from a previous match were arguing since they joined champ select screen. The quarrel between the two teammates reached a peak during the middle of the game and the** two players decided to spam V - ping each other for about 6 minutes straight.**

In the game's current state players only have the option to mute player's from their chat.

I think Riot should consider implementing either a chat command to mute a specific player ping OR an additional mute button on the statistics overlay next to the chat mute button for pings.

I feel like this is an important change because many people rely on pings as their primary team communication medium and using the /mute all command has no effect on pings to deter trolls.

The solution I found to this was turning my game sounds down, however this affects the other 60% of my team (including me) and then I cannot hear the serious team pings to group and take objectives. Sacrificing a vital source of communication for the majority of the team due to a toxic minority is frustrating, especially since the solution seems relatively simple.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else has encountered similar problems in their games at some point and if they have a more efficient way of dealing with the situation.
