Is Jarvan REALLY good or just like good?

Definitely a champ to grab. He’s one of my mains, and his role in a teamcomp is incredibly flexible. I’ve suggested him to someone looking for a “hypermobile tank juggernaut DPS enchanter assassin” before, since he can build to be any of those things (although “hypermobile” is debatable). Viable in any position except ADC, which you could probably do anyway if you pair him with a mage, Ezreal, or Sona doing the no-farm strat.

Another thing is that Jarvan is very reliant on the player judging when to engage. He will help you learn this, which translates to other champions easily.

However, Jarvan is not the greatest duelist, nor is he very skill expressive despite being rather flashy. He is also rather cooldown-reliant when laning, since he can only dash away to escape a gank or bad trade if both of his damaging abilities are up. He also lacks sustain. Making up for these deficiencies can be challenging at times.

However, he’s getting nerfed while Sona and Jinx aren’t, so he must be ABSOLUTELY BUSTED!!1!1! Which is better than “REALLY good”. Although I’d just describe him as “good.”

At a level of play where everyone is proficient and especially in competitive play, he's a situational pick and the meta doesn't really favor him right now. In solo queue, he's serviceable but other champions do the same things better and are better in more situations than jarvan is and worse in fewer BUT that's not to say you couldn't play him right up into the high end of challenger on any server. That said, he's a high investment per reward champion and I don't really recommend him to low mmr players unless, of course, they just think he's cool. If you are concerned with "good" to win games, I recommend learning and abusing zac. If you want "Good" for winning games, short term , then I think Sej is the answer. and I recommend jungling with either. IF you were thinking TOP jarvan, I warn you that he naturally gets fucked in just about every lane unless he gets ahead, then it feels good but super volatile.

He's REALLY good and I wouldn't mind if all my games junglers picked him amumu or zac jungle every game (not an mf one trick or anything btw)
