Alright so im pretty bad at league and i came from dota before I played league and I really want to like it so I can play with my friends but I just can't find it fun i remember in dota loving this one character in dota called Rubick who could steal spells and I liked him cause he made things different but I feel like league is just rinse repeat so people who do enjoy league why do you like it?

The diverse characters. You got bright and colorful characters who are all about justice or protecting others, and then you have edgy characters that are kinda cool but fucking terrifying when they jump your ass.

Honestly, the game is rather exhilarating and the game knowledge is much easier to memorize than DOTA 2 (in my opinion).

It is the game that started of the whole moba thing. Dota is the follower after (among others). You may have a different opinion if you had been playing since the beginning, but for a while now riot have been rubbing the game through the dirt then rinsing it with our tears, so it's not exactly likeable for some anymore.

Dota was actually out before league so you dont know what your talking about. Pretty sure HON was as well.

League was made to be an easier more casual alternative to dota because people couldnt handle how hard it was.

Over the years league has evolved and gotten more complex and now its losing players because of this.

Its not super simple and easy which is what most player find fun.

Mobas are about skill and mastery, if you dont like improving and seeing your own improvement your not going to enjoy Mobas.

Its about proving your better then other people when they have the same chances as you. And to do this you have to practice and get better or, Rinse and Repeat.

One of the dumber comments i have seen. While it may be more complex, the rapid development has led to imbalance that hurts all the things you just praised about mobas. Yes, my moba history is sh*% but that doesn't make my points invalid. So just answer the question or leave, don't just come here to bloat your ego by talking negitively.

I dont know why your so angry? i wasnt negative to you in any way?

I just stated you were wrong about league being the first MOBA so factually you dont know what your talking about on that topic. no need to be angry about it?

Rapid development? what over 8 almost 9 years?

I also did answer the question

"Over the years league has evolved and gotten more complex and now its losing players because of this.

Trying to educate you and keep you from spreading the wrong information isnt being negative or has anything to do with my ego.

Its being helpful and trying to raise everyones awareness of the issues.

Sorry your so mad you were wrong.

best of luck.

Some good points, but still this is an opinion based question and saying your right and other answers are "wrong information" is arrogant, as is the vibe of your message. You are not really "educating" Now while lol has been in development for a while, recently there has been lots of changes taking place rapidly and this has left some people not so sure about the game as balance issues arise. I for one play lol because i can still find it enjoyable as one must improve, but frustration comes from the fact people cannot win every match just on their own skill. Many people actually dislike an "easy game" as this adds more randomness and luck based elements into each victory, which has been increasing steadily as SR becomes more aggressive.

In my opinion a lot of it boils down to the fact it was actually more forgiving before as you felt outplayed when you died thus allowing you to learn and improve. Now as it becomes more aggressive skill still takes a role, but luck plays more of a factor as well, and luck affecting games both raises the egos of the lucky and crushes the unlucky into a toxic community.

The main problem arises from solo queue, this game is a friendly skill based fight if you have a team of friends that put time into the game, and a toxic unbalanced pit for all those except people who constantly carry in solo-queue. I hope you understand where i'm coming from.

I get what your saying i just dont agree with your underlying logic on alot of it.

For example stating a fact has nothing to do with arrogance infact getting mad about being wrong shows arrogance on top of ignorance. but enough on that as i really wasnt trying to attack you just point out that league was the 3rd major moba not the first.

As far as the rest goes,

League has had the same patch schedule for the last 8 years so the speed of it hasent changes. Factually.

The patches now are much smaller and more targeted. As im sure you know by all the meme about +3 this -2 that ect ect. So no factual increase in change there.

Luck doesnt affect more in aggressive situations if your skill level can compensate. which in turn proves that as the game gets more difficult and peoples skill levels cant keep up people see it as luck and being unfair.

People toxicity has nothing to do with the game at all and everything to do with people horrible emotional intelligence and ability to control their own emotions.

I agree with you i just dont think your looking at it from the right perspective. The results do not endorse the cause.

Astorine1 votes

I was never mad about being wrong, that's just what you want.

Statistically patches haven't changed too much over time, but they are more targeted thus attracting more attention as you said, this just has some people especially unhappy about specific patches.

Also luck is increasing more and more, you are right that skill can compensate but most people are just tired by being expected to compensate for a single mistake they made early that led to snowballing. Not everyone can carry 100%

People are increasingly having horrible emotional intelligence from the way the game is going and the new fanbase, and i believe that you are wrong in saying that it has nothing to do with the game at all, gameplay is affected by the growing toxicity that is tilting teams, this is indirect though, so not entirely applicable.

I see your perspective and respect it, but i also believe you should take a different view on the indirect way the game is changing, not just the big numbers.

I get what your saying. And toxicity is a bad thing but if people wouldn't get so butt hurt over losing it wouldn't be an issue. People get their own happiness wrapped up in a single match on a game that they need to lash out at other people to make themselves feel better. This has nothing to do with the game and everything to do with mental health. Its like people dont understand you have a 50% chance of losing every time you que.

I agree the game is far less forgiving then it used to be but honestly i dont think its because of the changes i think its because of how Tilted and toxic people get when they mess up. They just totally give up and quit feed or become toxic and no one wants to play at that point. It all comes down to the player base ability to control their emotional state.

Astorine1 votes

Perfectly true, but the changes to the game over time have indirectly been responsible for some of the tilt, all i'm saying. If you say there is a 50% chance you will lose (true) then accept that luck plays somewhat of a role.

I enjoy the game, but many times have i typed up a full shltpost in a fit of rage after leavers, flamers and trolls. Just unlike most of the community i delete the typing before i post and just go off to chill.

The toxicity has increased and it may or may not be partly riots fault, but now it seems unfixible because the more tilters the more tilted that in turn become flamers and trolls, so whatever increased the garbage mental state within the community doesn't matter now, now its just all an endless loop of toxicity.

It may end league all together in the future and that is a sad way for a game to go out.

yes the changes made the game harder and people die more and start to feel helpless which lowers their emotions to a negative state and then they become toxic and the game community gets worse. This again is all on the players lack of emotional intelligence and ability to control their emotions not on the game itself. When i get beat i enjoy it and i like to figure out why and how to counter it. i dont get angry and upset and hate life and rage at other people. Mute them report them move on. Its that simple.

If league dies from toxicity its because the average person cant mentally handle simple negativity of any kind in their life. which is a problem we face as a society now in general. Everyone get offended by everything and their own negative feeling are everyone else fault and problem rather then their own. anything to protect their fragile egos.

Astorine1 votes

Then you accept changes to the game still sparked this in people and have to accept that there is still a little "feeling helpless rather than outplayed" that appeared and hurt the game.

Yup society is sad and the entire internet is a "safe place" made up of people who think only thier views count and yours are triggering. Accept when it's your fault and change accordingly, and accept when its not your fault then move on. This doesn't happen as much as it should anymore.

Oh i totally agree with what your saying my point is its not riot or the games fault but rather peoples own lack of emotional reasoning and ability to deal with feeling bad about not doing well rather then working to get better.

Astorine1 votes

It is riot and the game that indirectly led to this coming out of people.

But yes, it was inevitable that the crowd would get like this.

Although getting better does sometimes feel pointless as the algorithms try to keep you at a 50% winrate no matter what.

Still, while it was going to happen, i didn't expect the lol community to be the least chill i know of in the gaming world.

DOTA was not even it's own game. It was just a mod for warcaft 3. DOTA2 was rleeased mid 2013 while League was released 2009. Both games were made by people who worked on the mod. The map designer went to creat riot games, btw.

And Lage was in no way designed to be easier. It was designed to be more fluent, since for the people who went ended up at riot games, the an archer turning around like an SUV (exaggeration) felt to clunky. That is why Champion turn around instantly. Riot also went to make vision a more important tool with bushes who would cut off your vision to some places, as well as given creating an actual jungler role, while in DOTA2 having no jungler is still a viable possability

There are videos out there from beta and season 1 of riot literally saying they were trying to create a more casual easy to play and understandable MOBA from dota.

yes dota was a warcraft 3 mod. thats been around sense 2003 it also had a larger player base then and was the first official MOBA. They created the category. and as you stated many people left from it and moved over to riot and made league. for the reasons stated above which they voiced in many videos. Im not really into arguing about it. Iv been playing mobas for over 15 years now. I started on dota and moved to league.

I enjoy league cuz i like figuring things out and seeing people reactions when i dumpster them and they have no idea why. Its Gratifying to win. Its that simple. Its the reason anything competitive is worth doing. Your effort is rewarded.

You implying you left dota because it was too hard for you to "dumpster" people and the lol community is an easy target? There is a game problem if people don't feel outplayed but instead feel helpless, this prevents learning.

Starting the same rank game on the same day!

The same kind of losing streak 5 games.

Get a 1 victory and then losing streak.

WHY!

One player stays in B1?

One player stays on B4?

(Can not find the results of other seasons)

I don't actually know why I've gotten so addicted to league. I say this, because I've started way back in season 1, right when Cassiopeia was released. It was like a different game back then. I guess I just wanted to get better with every game, so I played a lot, and this affection of mine to the game has been with me till today.

What I'm saying is that a great thing about league for me is that it keeps being fresh. Another thing is that it's an absolute blast to play it with friends.
