Why is nasus never picked in competive

Lane swaps, amongst other things.
Absolutely terrible for the 2v1 lane meta. Can't buddy jungle at all, hates the idea of spending the first 6 minutes with no CS.
This.
maybe cuz pros arent dumb and know exactly what to do against Nasus
Sirhcez begs to differ with you. He's high level competitive. Singed and Nasus

Obviously there's a few mains who play him, but aside from mains there's few who would pick him.
Nasus needs build up time, he needs to sit and farm perfectly for 20~ minutes. If your team gets stomped before Nasus is strong then he won't be able to do much. Other tops are strong throughout the whole game and can make a winning impact around the map while Nasus has to farm.
Because Nasus needs to afk farm for 30 minutes and is easy to beat in lane.
Very easy to counter early game... just pick fiora and damage him every time he goes to farm. Then push so you hit 6 before him and then tower dive.
Then he builds thornmail and/or frozen heart...
and
e
It'll boost your damage, but it won't stop the passives.

Besides, just like Nasus, Fiora is often a target of bruiser/tank junglers for early ganks due to her lack of cc and escapes. :/
Guess it depends on which team is smarter, I suppose.
I normally pick fiora into team comps i know can't handle her, because that way i don't have much concern about being picked on by jungle. I especially pick her into teams with bad pre 6 ganks, like ww.
Oh, you're a smart Fiora player. (not implying I thought you were stupid, tho).
Then feast on, my friend. She's pretty fun.
easy to beat in lane
nope, he wins a few match ups
Just don't let him farm and hes not very good.
Because even a 1000 stack Nasus can't do much late game against a CC heavy support and an ADC with LW and crit. His damage has no limit but his tankiness does, and there are quite a few ADCs that can kill Nasus while taking zero damage.
Because games usually dont last long enough for a Nasus to become relevant. He has no hard CC and any pro worth his salt can bully a Nasus out of game early. So, no lane pressure, no early game advantages, and games dont generally make it past the 30 minute mark.
Pro teams cant afford to basically not have a top laner for 20 minutes. They need someone who can start making plays as soon as they hit level 3, and who can TP down for dragon fights and other stuff like that.
None of which Nasus can do.
