Riot needs to fix Match Making.

Looking at a recent game of my friend, I noticed how "lucky" she was when she matched with higher MMR people versus lower MMR people. Is that even fair? Considering it's a "battlefield", the team with the greatest advantage wins, correct? So I was wandering if this could be fixed or improved or at least explained?

Note: Looking even more back, I wonder if Riot did the same thing for me too...
