Decent PC, poor performance.

Hello, so I'am using Laptop with really decent parts Specs: GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Moba CPU: Intel I5-7300HQ Ram: DDR4 8GB 2400mHz League installed on SSD I think these specs is more than enough to run LoL, I mean, I played games like Metro Exodus or Fallen Jedi without any big problems.

So When I'am playing LoL I have around 150-110fps, but sometimes it's just dropping for no reason and I have to play with ~70fps and sometimes its going down all the way to 30fps ... V-Sync - off, Textures quality doesn't effect fps in background working only drivers and discord Nvidia drivers updated Laptop cleaned month ago, no issues with air flow...

When playing lol CPU seems ok working 60-80% on 3.30-3.10Ghz Ram usage is pretty high, around 70-80% (League use maximum of 4GB) And while playing Nvidia GPU usage is around 10-20% and intel GPU around 10-30% too, LoL is more based on CPU performance so I think it's ok

So, maybe do u have some ideas how can i fix that?

does your FPS drop at just random times.. or when a bunch of effects and abilities are being fired at the same time?

if it has to do with abilities..then lower your particle count in settings..

you can also reduce screen resolution

That's bs honestly. LoL should be running smoothly at highest everything with his specs.

yeah it just drops randomly, it can happen while standing under turret and waiting for the game

Are you running hot? Do you overclock? What else is up at the time? Have you checked for packet loss? Whats your connection like? Have you tried something like HASTE? Are you using overlays? Do you have a performence booster enabled?

hey, no I don't have any heat issues (cleaned month ago) , I don't overclock (base CPU 2.5ghz but while playing its over 3GHz and more, as I know it's normal for Intel CPU's) While playing I am running Discord, Lenovo drivers(my PC drivers) and few other drivers like Nvidia and Audio (all of them came with PC) packet loss, I am going to check it Connections is really good, no complains 30-36ms (1GB plan, I am playing with cable so interned is around 800mb/s) I haven't tried HASTE Sometimes Discord overlay , but only when I am talking with someone about performance booster, does GeForce count?

Turn off the discord overlay (not discord, the overlay explicitly).
When i ask what things are running i mean what programs do you have running - do you have steam going, a web browser, etc?

Also have you tried running the game in low spec mode or turning on the close-client when game starts option?

Without Discord, only Spotify (sometimes) and Chrome but most the times i turn it off...

Yeah I tried run game on low spec, it gives more fps when game working properly, but lag is almost the same.

I'll turn off overlay and try few games

Are your drivers up to date as well? Have you defragged recently? Run a cleaner? How much free space is on your hard drive? If you dont have a defragger, i suggest iobit smart defrag and CC cleaner. Also grab Speccy if you want to track your computers environment a little better.

My GPU drivers is the latest, I have CCleaner. I'll download speccy

also I have 32GB free space out of 119GB

I just looked at my packet loss, it looks normal : Reply from 172.217.21.***: bytes=32 time=27ms TTL=52

Ok, I know this will sound stupid, but is there any chance your power plan is not at highest everything? Cause if you are using balanced or power saving it will mess up your shit. Just create a power plan that has everything maxed out.

Friend of mine had a similar issue, and it got fixed when we realised his power plan was not allowing processor to run at 100%.

Also something else I encountered at some point was that on some laptops LoL for some reason doesn't run on the Nvidia but runs on the onboard. Fix that too if that's the case.

I am always using Best performance plan and I have changed settings in Nvidia panel to run LoL on High-performance Nvidia processor, so i don't thing that's a case. But I'll try too investigate battery performance and settings more
