Bard - Why Riot ? I don't get it

Why would you make a support champ like this. It requires who ever you are in lane with to completely understand how bard works in order to be successful . Care takers ShrIne require some to walk over it, and let it mature as well. The Portal doesn't work half the time in my experience , and having to run around and collect those lanterns or what ever just makes your teammates mad AND is Almost impossible late game with out your team following you around. Also, the alt is cool BUT IT STUNS YOUR TEAM AS WELL !! WTF WHY ? Also bard has next to zero farm so it kind of sucks to try and build the expensive items that you need to help out a "not so good" adc . And if that adc , or who ever you are in lane with fails you do to there is no making up for the lost skill to help your team prevail .

I love playing support champs and I think the idea of Bard is neat, but it just doesnt seem like a good idea.

He is definitely more reliant on communication and team strategy than many of the other supports, but I wouldn't say that's a problem - it just makes him unique. There are a lot of great plays you can make with Bard, and many of them will come from assisting not only your ADC but your jungle and maybe even mid laner as well. Getting good with Bard is going to mean managing all of that potential at once and at the right times.

Not sure how uniqueness is a good thing when it comes to bard. I mean everyone likes to be an individual , but why be the lonely guy on the mountain.

I think it's more about being good for the game. It gives you strategic options. You can pick a normal support and play a normal meta style game, or you can try Bard and a different playstyle. Whether or not that's going to be very competitive remains to be seen, of course.

A portal that works only 10 % of the time is far being being a strategic option. A heal that can just be trolled into uselessness is not very strategic , and a Support champ that can kill a minion with out running around collecting merps isn't very strategic eithe

Expecting a player to understand how simple things in the game function is **not ** a high bar. Moreover, it a pointless complaint.

"It's required to completely understand how the champions work in order to be successful ." is a true statement about League in and of itself. How on Earth is this any different.

Not true, I dont need to know how Soraka heals in order to receive a heal from her. and that is just one example.

Completely true.

"to be successful" That's the key phrase here. You can't be successful in any game if you don't know what things in the game are. That's a fact. So it's rather silly to point at one more instance of this and say it's somehow different.

Ok , a heal that depends on the other players Intelligence to receive said heal is certainly different than just casting a heal onto someone to heal them . Bards heal is just that, also it can be trolled , i had a player follow me around purposely just to step on every freshly cast heal just so I couldnt heal. Bard is the only support champ where this can happen.

How about "Report him for Assisting Enemy Team and move on with your life."?

Seriously. What do you want from me here?

Your hypothetical person who refuses to learn any aspect of the game is going to be terrible at the game regardless. That is absolutely not a reason to hamstring any future design decisions.

Its a team game filled with over 100 different characters. It asks a lot from you and you have to give the effort if you want to win. If you find a champion you actually dont know anything about and you are Level 30, you are going to lose.

Now I wonder if you spent as much energy saying something constructive as you did trying to troll me, how much better the community would be for it .

he'a a champ that doesnt really fit in with the current meta, so expect him to be such a game-changer that the meta shifts around him or expect him to hit trundle-status.

BUT YOU CAN PLACE SHRINES :D
Forget the jungler. Give a solo lane 3 shrines and they'll win 4 sure ;)

It seems like League is mostly all about Ranked 5 v 5's, so the petty qualms of YoloQ don't matter.

I like the idea of Bard, and Im sure a lot of work when into him, but sometimes just because your idea is "out of the box" doesn't mean it will work well.
