Matchmaking Logic

Hey,

I want to know if someone can enlighten me about Riot's matchmaking system. For the last 20 games, I've been put on teams as shown here, that are destined to loose. Just looking at the numbers is enough to see that our opponents are clearly more experienced than us. Thinking that Riot's matchmaking system only works according to the numbers, what is it that makes the system think that this team has any chance against the other team? I'm just curious why am I always placed on the team that is statistically the weaker team? Because it's been like that for a while. I feel like there is some greater idea behind this. Can someone explain this to me?
