pinging your health should also display shield HP beside it.

i was playing a game as galio and noticed when my passive came up , and i pinged my health it would display my HP percentage as usual but ignored my shield HP , which gave me an additional 300 or so HP in the later game. this would apply to champions like blitzcrank with his passive galio malphite with his passive and the countless other champions that have a shield ability. a shield in the late game can last a good amount of time by leagues standards , i think being able to ping that while you might only be at 15% hp , you also have a 300HP shield that can make up for it.

This could be confusing because of how true damage is applied, but i still like the idea.

Would be very confusing since most other people wouldn't know what the maximum size of your shield is, so seeing that it's at 100% could mean an extra 300 HP, as you said, or it could mean an extra 70. Also, it would look pretty weird with Mordekaiser passive and when you have multiple shields on you at once.

I think a better idea would be to allow you to ping shield abilities and show off exactly how much they can shield for. If I ping my Janna shield or my Blitzcrank/Sterak's passive, I'd like my teammates to see exactly how much damage those shields can absorb. Would also help with a little clarity, since currently there's no way to tell how much you actually shield for with shield power items and runes.
