Smart Casting

So I was playing Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm and saw in their smart casting setting three options. On, Off, and On Release. You however cannot set smart cast for individual abilities (there are no items). That is something LoL has that is a much neater feature. However, the On Release mechanic Blizzard developed was quite cool. It lets you see the trajectory or placement as long as you hold down the spell (q,w,e,r) and upon release it activates. I personally like to see the trajectory of certain spells. Maybe it is preference or maybe I am just 100% noob but regardless the On Release option if very cool. It is very clunky in HOTS right now as it doesn't always seem to cast your ability especially when spammed. I would personally like this option added to smart casting being on or off. How does everyone else feel especially those who have seen and tried this mechanic in HOTS?

The problem I have with this is the point and click abilities. Its going to be very hard to release on-target and can be very annoying when you miss a kill just because you didn't release in them.
