Pre-Game Ranked DCs

Hey Riot,

We are entering the 5th season of League of Legends and ranked games still start when players aren't connected. Can we please do something about this? The exp gain when behind is simply not enough. Having a summoner reconnect at level 1 when other summoners are already level 4 is a painful disadvantage. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you are able to distinguish between a DC and an AFK. Can we add some logic to the programming to prevent ranked games (or all games) from starting when people are connected?

P.S. I totally understand that DCs happen DURING the game and that not much can be done about that. But I feel like if something could be done to prevent them before the game even begins it would be a great addition to the community!

They should implement something like a 3 minute timer to wait for a DC during the game loading, and if the time is exceeded treat it as a dodged game for that player (at least if they're not in a promo series, if they are... i'm not sure because they'd obviously prefer the disadvantage over the loss).

I agree, that sounds like an easy and simple solution! Lets try and bring a lot of attention to this page so that Riot takes notice.
