It's normal, happens to everyone (I went from P5 to G4, and that was actually a pretty light drop compared to a shit load of P3's getting dropped into silver).

It's pretty common to drop a full tier in your placements (i.e. silver 5 to bronze 5.) Also, your first couple games of placements affect you MMR more than the last games in your placements. For example, if you won 6 in a row and then lost 4 you would be placed in a higher rank than if you lost your first 4 and then won your last 6 (even though both have a final record of 6-4.) Since you lost 4 out of your first 5 that pretty much guaranteed that you were going to drop a full division.

The rank you get in games does not affect your MMR or change what league you get placed in. You could have gotten 10 S ranks and still wound up bronze 5.

Its all about MMR.

I had a horrible placement experience, with 7 of the games being completely out of my control. Some even as bad as mid/bot losing an inhib before 15 minutes.

Still got placed Gold 4.

Also, how much LP are you getting per game now? If its 25+, you've got nothing to really complain about. You'll skip a tier each time, which means ~10 games per 2 tiers. That's only ~25 until you're silver 5.

If you actually belong higher (thus winning), you'll probably skip divisions in silver and hit gold in another 25 games.
